{"id":124673,"date":"2025-05-23T07:33:34","date_gmt":"2025-05-23T07:33:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/124673\/"},"modified":"2025-05-23T07:33:34","modified_gmt":"2025-05-23T07:33:34","slug":"franks-says-notts-eager-to-bounce-back-at-headingley","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/124673\/","title":{"rendered":"Franks says Notts eager to bounce back at Headingley"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><strong>Assistant Head Coach Paul Franks says that a galvanised Nottinghamshire are determined to bounce back from defeat in this week\u2019s trip to Yorkshire.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Green and Golds went down to Durham by seven wickets in a dramatic affair late on Day Four at Banks Homes Riverside, and will now aim to put things right at Headingley.<\/p>\n<p>A 14-strong squad has been named for the encounter, with play getting underway at 11am tomorrow, Friday 23 May.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/1747937391_squad-yorkshire.png\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cObviously, it was a tough few days up in Durham, and we have to take that on the chin,\u201d said Franks. \u201cWe played some really good cricket in that game, but we weren\u2019t quite good enough to come away with the result we wanted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a long journey home, and whenever you lose a game like that, you\u2019ve got to soak that up a little bit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve had a little bit to take on board over the last 24 hours, but the lads have recovered as well as they can, and we\u2019re now back and ready to go.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe preparation over the last 24 hours has been really good, and we\u2019re looking forward to tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Franks went on to note that the intensity of the fixture schedule can have an effect, but stresses that it is not an excuse, and the squad are as motivated as ever to end the first block of Championship cricket on a high.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think there are positives and negatives from [the schedule], there always are,\u201d he said. \u201cThe boys have been going at it pretty much flat out for the last seven weeks, and playing some really good cricket, but there have been some quite tired bodies and minds at times.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have to factor that in, that\u2019s important, because they\u2019re the best and the most valuable commodity in the game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat being said, they\u2019re excited to play again tomorrow. They\u2019re excited to play at Headingley and to try and put one over on Yorkshire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In particular, Franks believes the fixture itself against the White Rose, and the location at a ground always known for its hostility, will only serve to fire Notts up even more.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s a fantastic place to play well,\u201d Franks said of Headingley. \u201cIt\u2019s always quite a partisan crowd, who always support their team, but who always let their team know what they think too.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s our responsibility to get on top of them and try and put that pressure back on Yorkshire as much as we can.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re playing well, we have a lot of people playing well within our team, and we come with confidence.
