{"id":124763,"date":"2025-05-23T08:21:08","date_gmt":"2025-05-23T08:21:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/124763\/"},"modified":"2025-05-23T08:21:08","modified_gmt":"2025-05-23T08:21:08","slug":"high-tension-adrian-newey-talks-witnessed-by-axed-red-bull-driver","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/124763\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018High tension\u2019 Adrian Newey talks witnessed by axed Red Bull driver"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Adrian Newey is making his first paddock appearance with Aston Martin at the Monaco Grand Prix, and plenty of drivers who have worked with him have taken this opportunity to share their experiences.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One is former Red Bull Racing driver Daniil Kvyat, who praised the \u201clegendary\u201d Newey despite \u201cmoments of tension.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daniil Kvyat details Adrian Newey battles<\/p>\n<p>The F1 2024 season was a fiery one for the rumour mill, and no one fuelled it more than Adrian Newey.<\/p>\n<p>The legendary motorsport designer had been plying his trade with Red Bull Racing for almost two decades, helping craft the machines that powered the likes of Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen to dominant World Championships.<\/p>\n<p>But Newey announced he\u2019d be leaving the team last year, with ample speculation swirling about faltering relationships and intra-team frustrations.<\/p>\n<p>Soon, his name was linked with just about every team in the paddock before the announcement came that he\u2019d be moving to Aston Martin in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The latest analysis from PlanetF1.com:<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udc49\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetf1.com\/features\/emilia-romagna-grand-prix-2025-conclusions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Imola GP conclusions: Verstappen\u2019s Piastri lesson, McLaren\u2019s fear, Tsunoda\u2019s wobble<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udc49\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetf1.com\/features\/emilia-romagna-gp-driver-ratings-a-drop-for-piastri-as-verstappen-goes-perfect\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Emilia Romagna GP driver ratings: A drop for Piastri with Verstappen perfect<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Russian racer Daniil Kvyat was one of the drivers who competed with Red Bull Racing during Adrian Newey\u2019s tenure. He was there for the full 2015 season and was entered in four more in 2016 before being dropped back down to Toro Rosso, where he\u2019d gotten his start in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn\u2019t an easy time for Kvyat; after he collided with teammate Sebastian Vettel, the driver was demoted and Max Verstappen was signed as his replacement at the top-level team.<\/p>\n<p>But while Kvyat was dealing with his own frustrations, Adrian Newey was getting into \u201chigh-tension\u201d conversations with others, Kvyat has revealed on the\u00a0<strong>F1 Nation Podcast<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can say it was great to share the team with such a legendary person,\u201d Kvyat said of Newey.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course, we happened to work together in a very tough time for Red Bull Racing and I think I saw a lot of moments of tension at that time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe problems with the engine, they were quite big at the time.
