Meghan Markle<\/a> is reflecting back on the past seven years. And she says not everything looks the way she thought it would.. especially motherhood.<\/p>\n

Meghan and husband Prince Harry<\/a> just celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary and to mark the occassion, the Duchess of Sussex shared some family photos on her Instagram account.<\/a> <\/p>\n

In the post that shows a bulletin board covered in photos, Meghan wrote, \u201cSeven years of marriage.
A lifetime of stories.<\/p>\n

Thanks to all of you (whether by our side, or from afar) who have loved and supported us throughout our love story \u2013 we appreciate you.<\/p>\n

Happy anniversary! \u2764\ufe0f\u201d<\/p>\n

Her brand \u201cAs Ever\u201d also celebrated <\/a>the milestone on Instagram with a black and white picture of the couple, writing, \u201cSometimes two is better than one.<\/p>\n

Wishing a very happy anniversary to our founder @meghan<\/a> and her husband Prince Harry.\u201d<\/p>\n

The post also features a picture of two palm trees at the couple\u2019s Montecito, California home. In the past, Meghan has said were a major draw to them when they were looking for a house. \u201cOne of the first things my husband saw when we walked around the house was those two palm trees. See how they\u2019re connected at the bottom? He goes, \u201c\u2018My love, it\u2019s us,\u2019 \u201d she told\u00a0The Cut<\/a>\u00a0in 2022.<\/p>\n

But on her latest podcast, <\/a>the Duchess admitted that not everything about the past seven years looks exactly as she expected.<\/p>\n

Meghan Markle Admits Motherhood Is Not the Way She Envisioned<\/p>\n

On the May 20 episode of Meghan Markle\u2019s \u201cConfessions of a Female Founder\u201d podcast<\/a>, Meghan talked to Cassandra Morales Thurswell,<\/a> founder of the viral beauty brand Kitsch.<\/a><\/p>\n

In the podcast, Meghan talked about her expectations versus the reality of the past seven years. Especially in regard to motherhood.<\/p>\n

Meghan and Harry welcomed son Archie <\/a>in 2019. One year later, the couple left the royal family<\/a> and moved to California. Meghan gave birth to daughter Lilbet in 2021.<\/p>\n

And Meghan admits, becoming a mother looked very different from what she had envisioned. \u201cI will say, for myself, especially when they are baby babies and before I was a mom, I\u2019ve always wanted to be a mom,\u201d Meghan said. \u201cI was like, \u2018Oh gosh I\u2019m going to give a speech with a baby on my hip,\u2019 I had a whole vision.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cGranted, I had a lot of external things happening by the time I had both pregnancies and both babies,\u201d Meghan went on to say. \u201cBut it was not the way I envisioned it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meghan Markle Wants Her Kids to See Her Working<\/p>\n

Meghan has been open about the challenges of juggling motherhood along with her\u00a0Netflix show<\/a>\u00a0\u201cWith Love, Meghan,<\/a>\u201d her\u00a0product line \u201cAs Ever<\/a>\u201d and her\u00a0podcast \u201cConfessions of a Female Founder<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Still, in the podcast, she says that mix is crucial. \u201cFor me, it\u2019s so important my kids see me as a working mom,\u201d Meghan told Cassandra.<\/p>\n

In an interview at the Time100 Summit<\/a>, Meghan<\/a>\u00a0admitted the last 18 months have been busy and at times chaotic, she wouldn\u2019t change a thing. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m the happiest I\u2019ve ever been,\u201d she told Time CEO Jessica Sibley. \u201cAnd that part, to have a partner and a husband who\u2019s just so supportive\u2026 and to have healthy kids that are so joyful in the freeness of their life and the safety of their life that we create for them\u2026 of all the things that have happened in my life, I never would have imagined getting here at this point that I would feel just so happy and grateful, and I really do.\u201d<\/p>\n
