\n\tPrince William<\/a> is reportedly planning for a \u201cradical\u201d new era just a few months after hiring Princess Diana<\/a>\u2018s divorce lawyers in a headline-making move.<\/p>\n

\n\tKate Mansey, royal editor for the\u00a0Times, revealed during a May 23 episode of True Royalty TV\u2019s\u00a0The Royal Beat that a palace insider claims William is working towards some major changes that could change the monarchy as we know it. According to Mansey, William wants plans for the future of the Royal Family<\/a> will be \u201cquite a radical departure, really, from what The King does, or what the late Queen did.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile discussing some of William\u2019s recent royal appearances, Mansey said, \u201cI think what\u2019s really interesting about this is, I wrote a profile about William recently, and someone very close to him was saying that this is a move away from these classic kinds of patronages, where you would go and support an existing charity, to actual projects.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWilliam is beginning to make moves to prepare for his time as King and, according to Mansey, \u201cwants to come away and think, \u2018I\u2019ve made a difference there, there\u2019s money that\u2019s gone into that community centre or there\u2019s something that\u2019s happened because I went there,\u2019 rather than just showing up and shaking some hands.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSo, what does this have to do with William hiring the legal team<\/a> Princess Diana worked with in her divorce from King Charles? The move is reportedly one of William\u2019s many efforts to separate himself from his father.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn April, William dropped King Charles\u2019 longtime legal team,\u00a0Harbottle & Lewis, and its partner, Gerrard Tyrrell, with whom he had worked since becoming an adult. He is now represented by\u00a0Mishcon de Reya, the legal firm his mother used in her 1996 divorce from his father. <\/p>\n

\n\tWilliam\u2019s alleged new vision has been much-talked-about in recent months. In April, William Hague, who works with the Prince of Wales at the Royal Foundation\u2019s United for Wildlife initiative, told Mansey for the Times<\/a>, \u201c[William\u2019s] not one for long meetings or going around the same thing again. I\u2019ve often heard him say, \u2018There\u2019s been too much talk about that. We need to see some action.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWilliam reportedly isn\u2019t interested in \u201cribbon-cutting representation\u201d from the Royal Family and wants to enact real change. <\/p>\n
