Arne Slot has identified the one key quality that he is looking to add to his title-winning squad this summer – pace.<\/p>\n
The Liverpool<\/a> manager will lift the Premier League<\/a> trophy at Anfield after Sunday\u2019s match against Crystal Palace<\/a>. And despite a runaway Premier League success, Slot believes the Liverpool squad can be even more formidable.<\/p>\n Slot recently said he was looking for ‘extra weapons’ and he has expanded on that, explaining: \u201cI\u2019ve said a few times we could add one or two qualities \u2026 pace is one of those that could make us even stronger.\u201d<\/p>\n The imminent arrival of Dutch wing-back Jeremie Frimpong will certainly help in that department but Slot admits he cannot gauge how many players he will need to bring in until he sees if any of his current squad want to leave.<\/p>\n READ MORE: Florian Wirtz joining Liverpool could cause immediate exit as Barcelona ‘grow confident’<\/a>READ MORE: Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch explains response to mid-season issue – ‘It was difficult for me’<\/a><\/p>\n Luis Diaz has been linked with Barcelona<\/a> and Darwin Nunez – who has struggled to cement a regular starting place – has been strongly linked to a Liverpool exit. And Slot said: \u201cI don\u2019t know exactly what is going to happen. One of the main strengths we had this season is that everybody accepted his role.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd his role sometimes could be to start every single game, hardly be taken off, sometimes be taken off. It could be sometimes not starting every single game, sometimes not playing hardly minutes.<\/p>\n \u201cBut everybody played his part in our success and that sometimes means you only come in for ten minutes and make the difference. But it can also mean that after you didn\u2019t come in at all, you delivered a great training session afterwards.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I don\u2019t know if all of them will accept the same role again for next season. But that is a vital part for me.<\/p>\n “Pep said something about it this week – he said I can\u2019t manage 26 players that are all good enough to play. I think – but every person could be different – it could be quite difficult if you haven\u2019t played a lot this season to go into a season one more time with that same prospect.<\/p>\n \u201cBut that is not up to me to decide – that is also up to the players to decide. So I can\u2019t tell you how many we have to take.\u201d<\/p>\n And Slot is also waiting to see if all of his players come back fit and firing when the squad reports back for duty on July 8. The Liverpool manager said: \u201cWe have a challenge because it would not be the first time in history that we have a team win something and they change in attitude.<\/p>\n \u201cBut to be fair to these players, a few of them have already shown that if they win something, next season they are at it again.
