{"id":127034,"date":"2025-05-24T04:14:07","date_gmt":"2025-05-24T04:14:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/127034\/"},"modified":"2025-05-24T04:14:07","modified_gmt":"2025-05-24T04:14:07","slug":"obliviar-virtual-reality-experience-opens-in-clifton-moor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/127034\/","title":{"rendered":"obliViaR virtual reality experience opens in Clifton Moor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  obliViaR, a new VR experience, has opened its doors in the former Frankie and Benny\u2019s building in Clifton Moor, next to the Vue cinema.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The arcade offers\u00a0four VR pods \u2013 for one to four people &#8211; and three large \u2018free roam\u2019 arenas, allowing groups of different sizes to experience a range of VR games together.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <strong>RECOMMENDED READING:<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Owner Bernadette opened the VR experience after a health issue prompted her to leave her previous job. She said: \u201cI come from a bit of a corporate background \u2013 I used to work in financial services \u2013 and I tried the experience, then thought it was just wonderful.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cAfter I left my job, I just went for it. I\u2019m a Yorkshire lass and thought I should bring this to us in York \u2013 I know there\u2019s nothing like this nearby.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  obliViAR offers a range of games, escape rooms, and experiences aimed at people of all ages \u2013 hosting children\u2019s birthday parties, corporate events, and anything in between.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   alt=\"Two of the three free roam areas\" style=\"width: 100%;\"\/>Two of the three free roam areas (Image: Provided) Some of the games\u00a0include jail break escape rooms, zombie arcade shooters, competitive cooking games, and children\u2019s playground simulations with all options giving gamers the chance to play together in the same physical environment as well as virtual reality.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  At obliViaR, there are\u00a026 Ultra Enterprise headsets and eight\u00a0high end gaming PCs, with an operations desk and viewing screen for those who choose not to take part.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The experience is also designed to be inclusive, with all four pods being wheelchair accessible.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   alt=\"All four pods are wheelchair accessible and can have up to 4 people playing\" style=\"width: 100%;\"\/>All four pods are wheelchair accessible and can have up to 4 people playing (Image: Provided) Bernadette added: \u201cAccessibility is something really close to my heart \u2013 my dad was an amputee and he loved to travel, but it wasn\u2019t something that he could physically do.
