‘Bankrupt’ Birmingham City Council has netted more than \u00a35.5m in property sales so far in 2025.<\/p>\n

It follows three auctions where \u00a3807,000<\/a> was raised from sales of assets on February 6, \u00a31.9m<\/a> on March 27 and \u00a32.86m<\/a> on May 15.<\/p>\n

The running annual total amounts to \u00a35,575,500 across each of the auctions by Bond Wolfe – with four more auctions scheduled this year.<\/p>\n

Some of the sites sold include the former Four Oaks Boys Club on Wilmcote Drive, in the Mere Green area of Sutton Coldfield<\/a>, which sold for \u00a3393,000 \u2013 more than five times its \u00a375,000 plus guide price.<\/p>\n

The former Trittiford Learning Centre, at 109-111 Trittiford Road, in Moseley<\/a>, which had a \u00a3500,000+ guide price that went for \u00a31,520,000.<\/p>\n

While the former Merrishaw Childrens Centre at 49 Merrishaw Road in Northfield<\/a>, which had a \u00a3200,000+ guide price and sold for \u00a3351,000.<\/p>\n

A six-bedroomed, detached house at 83 Lichfield<\/a> Road in Sutton Coldfield was bought for \u00a3799,000 and a former caretaker\u2019s three-bedroomed house at 43 Poplar Road in Kings Heath<\/a> was snapped up for \u00a3262,000.<\/p>\n

The auctioneers continues its contract to raise funds for the council at its next four auctions this year.<\/p>\n

And Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe, today invited other councils and housing associations to use his company\u2019s auctions to sell their unwanted property stocks.<\/p>\n

Bond Wolfe will hold a further four more auctions this year – on July 10, September 11, October 23, and December 10.<\/p>\n
