A new preview has revealed the first scene for Jason Grimshaw <\/a>after nine years. Ryan Thomas<\/a> has reprised his role after almost a decade<\/a> for a short stint.<\/p>\n Now a clip has revealed his first scene back, and the moment characters discover Jason is back on the cobbles. There’s gasps and shocked faces as Ryan’s character Jason enters the Rovers and declares he’s returned.<\/p>\n Eileen Grimshaw is emotional as she races over to embrace her son, with other residents not expecting to see him again. Jason walks in with a suitcase and is soon laughing at the reaction of his former neighbours and loved ones.<\/p>\n He declares: “The Rover returns. Well don’t all rush at once.” As his brother Todd Grimshaw watches on stunned, Eileen races to hug him with Ryan saying: “You alright, mam?”<\/p>\n READ MORE: Colson Smith’s true feelings about Coronation Street axe as cast ‘couldn’t believe it’<\/a> It seems not everyone is happy about the moment, as it interrupts George Shuttleworth’s hopes of asking Eileen to marry him. He leaves his partner stunned after they hit the rocks recently.<\/p>\n Using a game to share how he feels about her, George pops the question and Eileen is speechless. It seems she’s saved from answering though, as she flees to greet her son leaving George annoyed.<\/p>\n Ryan recently told The Mirror<\/a> all about his big comeback, admitting he was nervous to film the scenes. He explained: “I couldn’t sleep the night before. Even though I’d been there half my life, I felt like the new kid at school.<\/p>\n “It took me half a day to get rid of the nerves. It was a bit of a shock to the system at first. I even went on YouTube<\/a> to rewatch old scenes and got nervous.” Ryan quickly got back into the swing of things though, while fans can expect to see a very different Jason this time around.<\/p>\n “He’s embraced the Thai way of life. I really wanted to come back in the builder’s outfit, but it made sense that he’s in a different phase of his life now. He is all linen trousers and bracelets and beads. It gives you a feel of this older Jason whose life is now away from the cobbles.”<\/p>\n Jason is back on the show ahead of Eileen’s exit from the cobbles, after more than a decade. Sue Cleaver<\/a> quit the role last year and asked for Ryan to reprise his role for her send-off.<\/p>\n Ryan told us “it felt right” to head back to the show, something he never thought he would do, for co-star and close friend Sue’s emotional exit.
