A man has been charged with a string of offences after a gun was allegedly pulled out on a Salford<\/a> street.<\/p>\n

Officers attended Great Clowes Street, near Albert Park, at around midday on Tuesday (May 20).<\/p>\n

Greater Manchester Police<\/a> says it arrested a 32-year-old man in Whalley Range<\/a> on Wednesday in connection with the incident.<\/p>\n

In an update issued this morning (Saturday), GMP confirmed he had since been charged.<\/p>\n

Jay Conway, of Leicester Walk, Salford, has been charged with possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm when prohibited for five years, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, and assault of an emergency worker.<\/p>\n

He is due to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court this morning.<\/p>\n

Two women who were previously arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have since been bailed, GMP says.<\/p>\n

A GMP spokesperson added: “These charges relate to an incident where an alleged firearm was seen in Salford earlier this week.<\/p>\n

“A 56-year-old woman and a 33-year-old woman have both been bailed for enquiries, regarding their arrest for assisting an offender.”<\/p>\n
