If you\u2019ve ever seen makeup artist Emily Wood\u2019s work on Instagram<\/a>, you may have thought she looks a lot like White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood<\/a>. <\/p>\n

There\u2019s a reason for that, as the pair are sisters \u2013 a fact fans are only just finding out now. <\/p>\n

Emily \u2013 who was diagnosed with dyslexia aged nine \u2013 has garnered 101,000 followers through her self-applied makeup tutorials, often using experimental, bold and colourful techniques.<\/p>\n

You Beauty Podcast shocked fans with a post explaining the link on their Instagram page.<\/p>\n

\u2018You might\u2019ve seen\u00a0@emilywoodmakeup\u00a0on your FYP doing a full glam look with just a single lip liner. But did you know her sister is The White Lotus star\u00a0@aimeelouwood? The Wood sisters are out here thriving,\u2019 they wrote, alongside a picture of Emily in one of her makeup videos. <\/p>\n

\u2018No way! How cool. I love her makeup vids,\u2019 said chloemorello, while memento.lucem said: \u2018Literally thought you were her. \ud83d\udc9b\ud83d\udc9b so much love for you both!!!\u2019 <\/p>\n

\u2018I stumbled on her ig a few weeks ago and I told my husband she looks like the girl from White Lotus. Looked her up and confirmed. It made my night lol,\u2019 added cnidocytes. <\/p>\n

In an interview with online publication The Block Magazine<\/a>, Emily revealed that her interest in makeup was sparked from watching her nana Sylvia curling her lashes, applying eyeliner, and flushed cheeks \u2013 now her statement look too. <\/p>\n

Emily and Aimee lived with their grandparents for a year while their parents were going through a divorce. <\/p>\n

Her and Aimee\u2019s mother Alison, who is a ChildLine Worker, has also always been consistent with her makeup routine. <\/p>\n

Emily explained how Alison has always worn the same frosted finish lipstick, and when it was discontinued it really \u2018shook\u2019 her mum \u2013 who found a similar alternative and stockpiled 50 lipsticks in a panic. <\/p>\n

On how she got into makeup artistry, Emily explained to the site: \u2018I felt quite lost and stuck at the age of 18. I had a boyfriend who I was clinically obsessed with, all my friends were going to uni, and I didn\u2019t know what to do. <\/p>\n

\u2018I started an art foundation course after college which I did not complete. Soon after that, I went and did a short fashion makeup course and I loved it but felt a lot of shame around just doing make up. It felt unimportant.\u2019 <\/p>\n

However, she reasoned: \u2018I\u2019m doing art on my face. I\u2019m blending those colours together seamlessly, and often without a mirror and it\u2019s meticulous and intricate. <\/p>\n

\u2018I think because it\u2019s my face and not a canvas or an actual, physical piece of art I\u2019m hanging up, I do have\u2026 I don\u2019t know what that nuance is, but there is something around that shame. <\/p>\n

\u2018Maybe because it\u2019s so transient, it feels like it\u2019s not that deep, or I shouldn\u2019t get defensive about it.\u2019<\/p>\n

This discovery comes as Emily\u2019s sister Aimee starred in season three of The White Lotus<\/a> as Chelsea, with the final episode premiering on Monday. <\/p>\n

The lookalike sisters grew up in Stockport, and Aimee has previously opened up about her somewhat \u2018turbulent\u2019 childhood, explaining how their dad struggled with drink and drug addiction. <\/p>\n

She told The Guardian: \u2018He would go out for a pint and not come back for days. He once went out and didn\u2019t come back for 10 weeks because he\u2019d been to the World Cup in Korea.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n

Aimee continued: \u2018He was a party animal on the scene in Manchester so he would hang out with celebrities and Manchester City football players; he had a massive ego, so that gave him validation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018Because of him, my mum had to carry a lot on her shoulders. She tried to protect us, and took responsibility for it, in a way.\u2019\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Her parents divorced when Aimee was at school, and the family was introduced to her mother\u2019s new partner. <\/p>\n

The Sex Education star\u2019s stepfather paid for her to attend a private secondary school, where her love for acting blossomed \u2013 though she was bullied about her unconventional (and now widely celebrated<\/a>) teeth and Stockport accent.<\/p>\n
