Chris Wilder and Leeds United aren\u2019t the friendliest of competitors, and that\u2019s been shown this season.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The stakes increased this Championship campaign in what was an extraordinary promotion race.<\/p>\n

Wilder<\/a> and Leeds<\/a> have been at the heart of it, with Wilder still being told about Leeds\u2019 promotion<\/a> to his frustration.<\/p>\n

It was the Whites who prevailed with the title though to Leeds fans\u2019 relief, and have even since mocked Wilder<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Well, he\u2019s had plenty to say about Daniel Farke\u2019s<\/a> side this season, and a new excuse has been brought up by the Sheffield United boss.<\/p>\n

The feud between the club and the manager has been going on for a while now.<\/p>\n

Ever since Wilder mocked Leeds\u2019 failure in 2019<\/a>, fans haven\u2019t held back since and love to see the Blades boss get rattled.<\/p>\n

Wilder was fuming after Leeds\u2019 3-1 win<\/a> over Sheffield in what turned out to be a pivotal game in the promotion race.<\/p>\n

With Leeds coming out on top, Wilder has opened up the excuse book again and went back to the start of the season.<\/p>\n

Speaking to The Telegraph<\/a>, the Blades manager claimed that their challenges were \u2018far greater\u2019, which cost them.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe weren\u2019t at the level of Burnley and Leeds at the start of the season in terms of what we had to deal with,\u201d Wilder said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn my opinion, our challenges were far greater at the start and even through the season.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would have had to get 103 points to go up, so even if we won all three games that week, we wouldn\u2019t have gotten that number. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe just had a bad week. I don\u2019t think we tossed it away. It\u2019s pretty lazy to say that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sheffield United ultimately bottled the season against Leeds<\/p>\n

It\u2019s baffling to hear Wilder claim that challenges went against them when, at one point, the Blades were top of the tree<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Blades manager even went as far as to say that Leeds were in the wrong position<\/a>, due to Sheffield\u2019s point deduction, but two points still wouldn\u2019t have been enough to secure promotion after Wilder\u2019s monumental bottle in the final games.<\/p>\n

But it seems as though Wilder can\u2019t accept that fact, and if his side don\u2019t achieve promotion against Sunderland, no doubt the excuses will come back out again.<\/p>\n
