{"id":128458,"date":"2025-05-24T16:38:13","date_gmt":"2025-05-24T16:38:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/128458\/"},"modified":"2025-05-24T16:38:13","modified_gmt":"2025-05-24T16:38:13","slug":"philadelphia-route-begins-again-at-edinburgh-airport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/128458\/","title":{"rendered":"Philadelphia route begins again at Edinburgh Airport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>        Edinburgh to Philadelphia route resumes.American Airlines has returned to the capital as its summer service between Edinburgh and Philadelphia resumed on Saturday. <\/p>\n<p>The service will operate\u00a0from 24 May until 5 October\u00a0and will be served by a Boeing 787-800 aircraft \u2013 and will see the airline return to Scotland\u2019s capital for the first time since 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The resumption of the Philadelphia flight sees Edinburgh Airport reconnect to all of its pre-Covid transatlantic routes, with even more additions also being made to the schedule.<\/p>\n<p>The airport, part of the VINCI Airports network, leads the way in direct North American connectivity from Scotland and is committed to expanding its transatlantic connectivity with even more routes where possible.<\/p>\n<p>Gordon Dewar, Chief Executive at Edinburgh Airport, said: \u201cWe are thrilled to see American Airlines back at Edinburgh for the first time since 2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe return of the Philadelphia route not only strengthens our transatlantic connectivity but also marks a significant milestone as we reconnect with all of our pre-Covid transatlantic routes as well as adding even more connections since then.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a clear sign of growing confidence in international travel, and Edinburgh as a prosperous hub for it. We\u2019re glad to be offering even more choice to passengers looking to explore both Sotland and the US.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jos\u00e9 A. Freig, Vice President of International Operations said: \u201cAfter almost six years away, we\u2019re excited to return to Edinburgh.
