The highly-anticipated event is huge in the city calendar and 75,000 revellers are expected in Birmingham until Sunday to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.<\/p>\n
Birmingham Pride will take place from Saturday, May 24 to Sunday, May 25 – and tens of thousands of people filled the city centre this afternoon as celebrations got underway.<\/p>\n
SPOT YOURSELF IN OUR PARADE GALLERY, HERE.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Watch the parade in the video at the top of this story.<\/strong><\/p>\n Large crowds filed into Centenary Square at around 11am on Saturday May 24 for the Pride parade, which snaked its way through the city centre to Birmingham’s Gay Village.<\/p>\n Open top buses, fitted-out HGVs and tractors took to the parade route as cheers, drums and squeals rang out.<\/p>\n Crowds lined the barriers on the parade route, with families in rainbow tops and face paint, glitter and vibrant costumes all cheering.<\/p>\n Waves of colour rippled down New Street, which was filled with thousands of people coming together in pride, remembrance and protest.<\/p>\n The thrum of drummers provided a rousing soundtrack for the parade, as well as singers and performers dressed up in rainbow carnival gear.<\/p>\n The crowds were a mix of young and old, but all passionately taking the opportunity to march for equality and justice.<\/p>\n Hits from iconic bands like ABBA filled the town centre walkways bringing a fun-filled atmosphere.<\/p>\n Across the weekend, revellers can expect performances from diverse artists within the community, a candlelit HIV memorial vigil, keynote speakers, community stalls, family-friendly activities and street food.<\/p>\n More than 40,000 are expected to attend the festival site itself, which is in the heart of the LGBTQ+ village, where music stars will perform for the crowd, in a safe space, free of judgment.<\/p>\n Clean Bandit, Vengaboys, Cascada and Bananarama are among the artists scheduled to play the main stage at the festival this year.<\/p>\n The Wanted 2.0, The Saturdays star Una Healy, Clementine Douglas, Moonchild Sanelly, Kitty Scott-Claus, Catty, Tom Rasmussen, Vicky Jackson (performing as Pink) and the Birmingham Royal Ballet are also taking part in the festivities.<\/p>\n Those performances are ticketed, you can find out more about admissions here.<\/a><\/p>\n There were some stunning sights on the parade as it buzzed its way through town and down to Hurst Street.<\/p>\n Crowds of people taking part in the parade wore vibrant animal masks, blew whistles and waved rainbow and Trans pride flags.<\/p>\n West Midlands Fire Service and West Midlands Ambulance were also among the city organisations that had floats and staff members take part in the parade.<\/p>\n Spot yourself in our live gallery from the parade this afternoon, here.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n![](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/0_JS370311714.jpg\")
