Police have confirmed that a protest in Castle Park this afternoon (May 24), attended by around 150 people, was a peaceful one, with no arrests made.<\/p>\n
Around 50 protestors and 100 counter protestors turned out at the park on Saturday as part of the wider Great British National Strike taking place all across the UK.<\/p>\n
And while Avon and Somerset Police attended, with some officers seen carrying protective equipment and wearing helmets, the force confirmed that the demonstrations were “peaceful”, and those involved dispersed without incident.<\/p>\n
A police spokesperson said: “Officers were deployed to Bristol city centre<\/a> today (24 May) to enable peaceful demonstrations to take place.<\/p>\n “In Castle Park, an estimated 50 people took part in a protest, with an estimated 100 people taking part in a counter demonstration.
