Prince William and Kate Middleton have surpassed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on a prestigious list, which stands testament to their growing popularity. Time Magazine’s Top 100 Philanthropy Awards recently recognized the Prince and Princess of Wales’s charitable efforts<\/a>. The list features key figures and visionary ideas that are driving the future of charity. The milestone for the Waleses comes as a big snub to Harry and Markle, who, despite their efforts with the Archewell Foundation<\/a> and Invictus Games, were noticeably absent from the list.<\/p>\n

William bagged the recognition for launching the groundbreaking Earthshot Prize Awards and its ten-year mission. As reported by The Sun<\/a>, Times Magazine commented on the royal couple and said, “Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, are less concerned with cultural preservation and more attuned to social issues, tackling homelessness and rural mental health through their Royal Foundation and spotlighting innovative solutions to climate change through the Earthshot Prize, an environmental award founded by William in 2020.” They added, “Crucial to the Waleses\u2019 approach is aligning social imperatives with sound business strategies and building corporate alliances to expand their reach.” <\/p>\n

Launched globally in 2020, the Earthshot Prize Awards funds bold ideas targeted at solving the planet\u2019s toughest environmental crises. Meanwhile, Middleton has dedicated herself to standing up for early childhood development, introducing the Shaping Us initiative. She has also led the Royal Foundation Business Taskforce for Early Childhood, which urges businesses to prioritize young children\u2019s care. Some of the other prominent people who made the list include Oprah Winfrey, David Beckham, Dolly Parton, and Michael Sheen, as reported by The Mirror<\/a>. Earlier in 2021, Harry and Markle were also included in the Top 100 most influential people list. However, despite branding themselves as leaders shaping the future through business and philanthropy on their website, the couple didn\u2019t secure a spot this year. <\/p>\n

As a military veteran himself, Harry launched the Invictus Games to recognize veterans and military personnel. He has led the charity with Markle in recent years. After stepping back from royal life in 2020, the pair also founded their own nonprofit, Archewell. Commenting on the goals of their organization, they shared, \u201cWe believe in the best of humanity because we have seen the best of humanity. We have experienced compassion and kindness from our mothers and strangers alike.\u201d<\/p>\n

As reported by Us Weekly<\/a>, they added, “In the face of fear, struggle, and pain, it can be easy to lose sight of this. Together, we can choose courage, healing, and connection. Together, we can choose to put compassion in action. We invite you to join us. As we work to build a better world, one act of compassion at a time.” Not just this, in February 2021, Harry and Markle\u2019s Archewell Foundation also extended a helping hand with a donation to Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support in Dallas, after Texas faced icy and snowy weather.<\/p>\n
