The victim, aged in his 20s, was left with serious, life-changing facial injuries<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/0_DT_CET_240525_lennox.jpg\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>Raydell Lennox, 19, has been jailed for 32 years(Image: West Midlands Police)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A teenage shooter who fled abroad after blasting someone in the face at a Midlands park has been put behind bars for over three decades.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Raydell Lennox, 19, opened fire at Caludon Castle Park, Coventry, having rolled up in a car just past 10.15pm on October 21 last year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The casualty, in his 20s, was left with life-altering facial wounds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The drive-by shooting is suspected to be a case of mistaken identity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Lennox then fled from the country but police had already pegged him as the main suspect.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The vehicle believed to have been used on the night of the offence was discovered torched a little over a week on.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Following his return to the UK, Lennox was arrested charged reports <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.coventrytelegraph.net\/news\/coventry-news\/teenage-gunman-who-fled-country-31715359\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Coventry Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">He was found guilty of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life after a two week trial.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">He received a 32-year stretch inside at Coventry Crown Court on Monday (19 May).<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Detective Constable Rob Tilley, part of the Major Crime Team at <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/west-midlands-police\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">West Midlands Police<\/a>, said: &#8220;This was a shooting at close range which has left a young man with significant injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;We carried out extensive enquiries and we were able to link Lennox as being involved.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;It&#8217;s unclear why Lennox fired the gun towards the victim, a strong line of enquiry has been it was mistaken identity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;Guns can destroy lives.
