For weeks on end, the weather<\/a> has felt anything but Mancunian.<\/p>\n Glorious sunshine and seemingly endless dry conditions have dominated the UK throughout spring – with the North West seeing its driest start to the year in almost a century<\/a>.<\/p>\n But as the bank holiday weekend began, the rain made its comeback.<\/p>\n Downpours poured on Greater Manchester in the early hours of this morning (May 24), with severe flooding reported on parts of the M60<\/a> overnight.<\/p>\n Saturday has begun with drizzle and showers across the region, with the Met Office expecting the rain to stop from around 11am.<\/p>\n Overcast conditions are forecast throughout the afternoon, before rain returns this evening, turning heavier from 7pm through to midnight.<\/p>\n Content cannot be displayed without consent<\/p>\n Light rain is forecast for the early hours of Sunday morning, before sunny intervals from 9am.<\/p>\n Showers are expected to fall at various times throughout the day in Greater Manchester, continuing on the morning of bank holiday Monday.<\/p>\n Rain is expected to turn heavier as Monday progresses, with downpours currently forecast at around 7pm.<\/p>\n Heading into the new week, further spells of light rain are forecast on Tuesday, before drier conditions return from Wednesday.<\/p>\n Join the Manchester Evening News <\/strong>WhatsApp<\/strong> group <\/strong>HERE<\/a><\/p>\n Mild temperatures are expected to continue over the next few days, with today being the warmest – with highs of 20C forecast in Manchester.<\/p>\n The rest of the bank holiday weekend is set for highs of 17C on Sunday and 16C on Monday, while overnight lows will drop from 11C tonight to 8C tomorrow night.<\/p>\n Top temperatures are currently forecast to remain in the high-teens throughout next week.<\/p>\n —<\/p>\n For the latest stories and breaking news visit manchestereveningnews.co.uk<\/a>.
