Germany men\u2019s national team coach Julian Nagelsmann weighed in on Friday\u2019s bombshell news that superstar attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz had rejected a move to Germany Rekordmeister Bayern Munich in favor of Premier League giants Liverpool FC.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe texted me. We exchanged a few messages. I tried to give him tips to the best of my knowledge and belief, but I told him I can\u2019t make the decision for him because my opinion is not necessarily the right one. The final decision is his. I didn\u2019t rule out any club, I just tried to explain things to him and give him tips. I\u2019m excited to find out about his decision. We always hear that things are done. It was also said with Bayern before that it was done. Let\u2019s wait,\u201d Nagelsmann explained in comments captured by Sky Sport (via @iMiaSanMia<\/a>).<\/p>\n But will it hurt the German men\u2019s national team now to not have Musiala and Wirtz playing together at club level? Not necessarily, in Nagelsmann\u2019s eyes.<\/p>\n \u201cYou can look at it from different points of view,\u201d the Germany boss continued. \u201cIn the end every player has to decide for himself. It\u2019s not official, but if it\u2019s Liverpool, then it\u2019d be a very good step because he can play in his position, a great environment, great club. Bayern wouldn\u2019t have been a bad option either. It would\u2019ve been good to have them [Wirtz and Musiala] playing together, but Jamal and Flo can get on well together even if they\u2019re not at the same club. The most important thing is that he plays and continues to develop. If he feels that he would be better off at Liverpool, then he has to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n Bayern fans may not like it but clearly, that is how Wirtz felt in the end.<\/p>\n The news that Bayern Munich had coughed up the Florian Wirtz transfer was shocking.
