According to one royal household insider, this is in part due to her regular morning routine, which can be easily replicated even if you don’t live the life of a Princess.

Anne Simmons, a former royal cleaner who worked in the royal residences for more than 12 years, says that Kate’s morning routine is quite simple. Speaking to Edit Suits, she said: “She’s incredibly organised. There’s no chaos, no luxury overload—just a handful of carefully chosen steps that she clearly trusts.

“There was one product for her hair, a natural moisturiser, and always a moment to herself before things got busy.”

According to the former royal staffer, it’s the consistency of the Princess’s routine that’s key, as she explained: “There weren’t dozens of serums or constant new products. Her routine didn’t change. That’s why it works.”

When it comes to preparing for a busy day, Anne says that Kate starts with a splash of cold water, something that helps to reduce puffiness and stimulates circulation. This leaves skin looking refreshing, without having to rely on any serums or creams.

Sharing one of Kate’s must-have items, Anne reveals that the Princess of Wales typically adds a few drops of Argan oil to her hair every morning. She says: “She kept a bottle of The Ordinary’s 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil on the counter. She’d work a little through the ends of her hair after brushing.”

Like many of us, one key part of Kate’s morning routine is moisturising, but Anne has shared a secret that is rather surprising—rather than opting for a luxury brand, Kate opts for a more natural alternative.

Although she hasn’t revealed the exact brand used by the Princess, Anne said: “Kate’s moisturiser wasn’t a flashy luxury brand. It was in a simple white tube—very understated.”

Another key part of the Princess’s morning routine is to take moment of peace before getting on with the day. “She’d often sit by the window with a cup of tea for five minutes. No phone, just silence,” Anne said.

To finish her morning, Kate applies minimal makeup, typically opting for some concealer and a bit of blush rather than donning a full face of makeup.

Princess Kate always looks poised and polished, even when participating in early morning engagements.
