A GANG who were convicted of robbing Kim Kardashian at gunpoint have been released from jail because they are too old and sick to be banged up.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The seven men and one woman<\/a>, aged in their 60s and 70s, were found guilty of robbing the reality TV star in 2016 by a French court on Friday.<\/p>\n

But the gang, including some who have serious illnesses, have all walked free because of their health and age, and the time they\u2019ve already spent in prison ahead of the trial.<\/p>\n

Judge David De Pas<\/a>, who sentenced the gang, said the state of their health \u2018\u2019prohibits\u2019\u2019 them from being incarcerated and none of them were likely to reoffend.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cIt would have been unjust to take you to prison this evening.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019You caused trauma, probably in a lasting way, but \u2018rebuilt your lives and taken steps to reintegrate.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for their lawyers said: \u2018\u2019Health and age factors and the fact that they have spent periods in prison already means that none will go back inside a cell.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019All have returned to their homes.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

The highest sentence of eight years in prison with five suspended was handed down to the gang\u2019s 69-year-old ringleader Aomar A\u00eft Khedache<\/a>, who is deaf and can barely speak.<\/p>\n

Other gang members include Yunnis Abbas, 72,<\/a> who has Parkinson\u2019s disease and had recent heart surgery, and Didier Dubreucq, 69,<\/a> who is a heavy smoker who has lung cancer.<\/p>\n

The gang were found guilty of zip-tying the reality TV star, 44,<\/a> in her room at a swanky hotel in Paris<\/a> and nicking her jewellery worth $10million, including an engagement ring from rapper ex-husband, Kanye West<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The announcement comes after lawyers for Kardashian said she was \u2018\u2019satisfied\u2019\u2019 with the result of the trial, and that \u2018\u2019justice had been served\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n

Her barrister, L\u00e9onor Hennerick, said: \u2018\u2019It\u2019s now done, she can move on.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

She also confirmed that the vast majority of the swag has never been recovered.<\/p>\n
