{"id":130247,"date":"2025-05-25T09:02:11","date_gmt":"2025-05-25T09:02:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/130247\/"},"modified":"2025-05-25T09:02:11","modified_gmt":"2025-05-25T09:02:11","slug":"hong-kongs-bustling-ipo-market-exceeds-hk76-billion-mark-this-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/130247\/","title":{"rendered":"Hong Kong\u2019s \u2018bustling\u2019 IPO market exceeds HK$76 billion mark this year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Funds raised through initial public offerings (IPO) in Hong Kong have exceeded HK$76 billion (US$9.7 billion) so far in 2025, the city\u2019s finance chief has said, following the biggest listing of the year by a mainland Chinese battery manufacturer last week.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po also said on Sunday that deepening ties with the mainland was key for Hong Kong\u2019s long-term development, despite negative evaluations from some ratings agencies, as he expressed confidence in the city\u2019s markets to withstand external shocks.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Writing on his weekly blog, Chan described the city\u2019s IPO market as \u201cbustling\u201d after it welcomed the world\u2019s largest offering so far this year.<\/p>\n<p>Battery giant Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL), which supplies the likes of Tesla and Volkswagen, saw its shares jump by more than 16 per cent in its <a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/business\/banking-finance\/article\/3310989\/catl-jumps-125-hong-kong-trading-debut-after-completing-years-biggest-stock-offering?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"noopener\">listing<\/a> last week, raising HK$41 billion.
