Ever since Prince Harry<\/strong><\/a> and Meghan Markle<\/strong><\/a> first started dating in 2016, the world has had strong opinions about their union, their exit from the UK and much more. Over the past few months, Meghan has become more visible than ever \u2014\u00a0there\u2019s the Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, her As Ever lifestyle line and new \u201cConfessions of a Female Founder\u201d podcast. This omnipresence coupled with Harry becoming more outspoken about his years-long rift<\/a> with the royal family means that those public opinions have reached a crescendo.<\/p>\n

Now, it\u2019s not just regular, anonymous people in Facebook comments saying what they think about Meghan, but celebrities too. These high-profile stars \u2014 whether they have met Meghan themselves or don\u2019t know much more about her than the general public \u2014 have used their platforms to air their views, and sometimes even offer some nuggets of wisdom and professional advice for the Duchess of Sussex.<\/p>\n

Meghan has always been a divisive figure, and that\u2019s something most big names can relate to. So, let\u2019s hear what they have to say about one of the most controversial women on the planet.<\/p>\n

Bethenny Frankel<\/a><\/p>\n

The entrepreneur and Real Housewives of New York City alum has taken to social media a number of times over the years to say exactly where she thinks Meghan is allegedly going wrong, and how she can fix it.<\/p>\n

Most recently, in March 2025, she shared that she had cracked the reason for Meghan\u2019s polarizing public persona. \u201cIt\u2019s a combination of jealousy and frustration,\u201d she said via Instagram. \u201cI remember when she walked down the aisle \u2026 she was beloved and it was amazing that she was divorced and that she was Black. It was like, it\u2019s this modern royal family and the monarchy\u2019s changing and it was great! And then the wheels came off. She has every right to be unhappy about her life but \u2026 I think they underestimated how much they would be on their own. I would do anything to just advise her. It feels like the last girl in the murder movie \u2014 like \u2018why are you making all the wrong turns?\u2019 Most people don\u2019t have these opportunities. The pot of gold is right there. It\u2019s frustration, we don\u2019t understand. Just like \u2013 stop! How did you do it this way?!\u201d<\/p>\n

Previously, in July 2023, she said similar things about both Meghan and Harry<\/a>, posting \u201cHow do you do every single thing wrong? I can\u2019t imagine going from hero to zero like that\u201d and adding that their outbursts against the monarchy were \u201ca botched job\u201d and they should \u201cgo away for a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sandra Lee<\/a><\/p>\n

\u200b\u200bThe TV chef exclusively told Us Weekly <\/a>on March 26 that she is pro-Meghan \u2014\u00a0and can\u2019t understand why With Love, Meghan has attracted so much criticism.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was actually surprised about the backlash<\/a> to the show,\u201d she said. \u201c[I\u2019ve been] in the lifestyle space for years. We have mixed relatable and unrepeatable elements [too]. Meghan\u2019s show is very well done [and] beautifully filmed. [It has] calming, serene content \u2014 and she even used my trick of using a plastic bag as a piping bag for her cake! I\u2019m happy for her. Her crew is doing a great job.\u201d She even had a few words of motivation for the duchess. \u201cKeep on going, and inspire people to make beautiful things,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Whitney Cummings<\/a><\/p>\n

On May 3, the actress and comedian posted an Instagram Reel captioned \u201cMeghan Markle can totally fix this if she just does this\u201d where, in a long, hilarious rant, she explained that Meghan\u2019s mistake has been not being more candid about how she and Harry got together.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe is just avoiding talking about the one thing we all want to hear about,\u201d she said. \u201cGirls are programmed from the time they are literal children to marry a prince, to land a prince. We don\u2019t really want them but, like, give us that intel. What did you do? How did you get them? Just tell us how you got him! Was it kegels? Did you laugh at his corny jokes? Did you let him keep up his Die Hard poster? Like, what did you do?! Just tell us \u2014 you\u2019re wearing full butt underwear? Just tell us!\u201d<\/p>\n

She went on to poke fun at some of the homemaking tips in Meghan\u2019s show. \u201cI know it\u2019s not the petals on the cookies,\u201d she said. \u201cWe know you don\u2019t get men with petals. We don\u2019t want him, we\u2019re just curious! What was the trick \u2014 you just listened, and every time he talked you were like, \u2018That\u2019s so interesting! Oh my God, that\u2019s so smart! I never would\u2019ve thought about that!\u2019? Do you ask him questions that you already know the answer to? Do you walk with pigeon toes? Are you wearing skirts, aprons? Like, what is it? Just tell us how you got him and we\u2019ll like you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gwyneth Paltrow\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

As a fellow founder of a huge lifestyle brand, Goop, all eyes were on Paltrow when As Ever launched. But, disappointingly for anyone who loves a drama, the Oscar-winning actress is supportive of Meghan\u2019s work and thinks there\u2019s plenty of room for competition.\u00a0 \u201cI wish Meghan nothing but the best,\u201d she said on \u201cThe World\u2019s First Podcast With Erin & Sara Foster\u201d in March 2025. \u201cIt\u2019s so great what she\u2019s doing. I\u2019m proud of her. Every woman deserves to go into anything they want to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

In fact, Paltrow hasn\u2019t even ruled out collab-ing with the duchess, revealing on May 17<\/a> that the two powerful women have been chatting over text.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not the first time both Paltrow and Meghan have been at pains to emphasize that they\u2019re on good terms. \u201cI was raised to see other women as friends, not foes,\u201d the actress told Vanity Fair in March, when the comparisons between Goop and As ever were first drawn. \u201cI think there\u2019s always more than enough to go around. Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try. Another woman is never your competition.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meghan McCain\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

The former View cohost and political scion might share her name with Meghan, but that\u2019s where the similarities end. \u201cI was originally a Meghan Markle supporter, I thought she was cool, stylish and refreshing,\u201d she wrote via X in January 2025 after seeing a clip of With Love, Meghan. \u201cLike the rest of the world my opinion changed when she disrespected the royal family. Now that she wants to be American again instead of British aristocracy what she seems to forget is Americans want real, raw, uncensored. All of this even in the trailer is highly curated, produced and out of touch. I would have told her to do a show helping bring fresh food to food deserts in low income neighborhoods. Do something to help people instead of your ego.\u201d<\/p>\n

Everyone wants to know what Kaling \u2014\u00a0as one of Meghan\u2019s most high-profile With Love, Meghan guests \u2014 really thinks of the duchess. And, of course, she\u2019s a fan \u2014\u00a0and finds all the attention their friendship gets pretty overwhelming. \u201cI noticed that whenever I do something, anything related to Meghan it becomes big news,\u201d she said on The View in March 2025. \u201cWe were making sandwiches, then they\u2019ll push in on my face on TikTok, and they\u2019ll be like, \u2018Look at how this emotion you felt,\u2019 and I honestly didn\u2019t even remember it because we shot it like nine months ago.\u201d The actress added: I loved my time with Meghan. I\u2019m also like, \u2018Let her promote her show, and I\u2019ll talk about (Kaling\u2019s new show) \u2018Running Point<\/a>.\u2019 It was great, and it\u2019s really fascinating seeing the reaction.\u201d<\/p>\n

Katherine Ryan<\/p>\n

The Canadian comedian used to be a supporter of Meghan \u2014\u00a0but, since watching With Love, Meghan, her feelings have changed a little. On her podcast, \u201cTelling Everybody Everything\u201d in March 2025, Ryan questioned her authenticity. \u201cI liked Meghan Markle,\u201d she said. \u201cI was rooting for Meghan Markle\u2026 though she is very Hollywood \u2013 even for me \u2013 and I don\u2019t like that in people. I don\u2019t think she\u2019s a bad person. Her whole act just seems very manicured and very forced.\u201d<\/p>\n

Like Cummings, Ryan thinks the former Suits actress should acknowledge the wonder of their relationship more. \u201cI think she likes cozying up to celebrities and she wants the hundred million dollar deal and she likes the fact that she\u2019s married to a prince,\u201d she said. \u201cI would rather someone lean into that and be like, oh my God, I used to be on Suits and now I\u2019m married to a prince. I would rather that than this act of \u2018Oh, I\u2019m just so humble.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Tina Brown<\/p>\n

The former Vanity Fair editor-in-chief (who has written two books about the royal family) has never minced her words when it comes to Harry and Meghan, calling their decision to quit royal duties for life in the U.S a \u201cdisaster\u201d at the time. And now she\u2019s gone further. Speaking on \u201cThe Ankler\u201d podcast in 2025, the British journalist said \u201cThe trouble with Meghan is that she has the worst judgment of anyone in the entire world. She\u2019s flawless about getting it all wrong. All of her ideas are total crap, unfortunately.\u201d She also described Harry as \u201cthe lamb to the slaughter\u201d and said the prince \u201cblindly followed her like a child.\u201d Ouch.<\/p>\n

Meghan took fans inside her kitchen, garden and home with Netflix\u2019s With Love, Meghan series. She brought along celebrity friends Mindy Kaling and Abigail Spencer for tea parties, sleepovers, cooking and crafting. Shortly before the series premiered in March [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

Kelly Osbourne<\/a><\/p>\n

The outspoken Osbourne offspring once declared Harry a \u201cf\u2013king t\u2013t\u201d but later clarified her opinions on the couple with a little more nuance. \u201cMaybe it\u2019s because I feel a certain level of disappointment in the sense where I feel like they had an opportunity to become the most liked, loved people in the entire world that could actually bring some positive change,\u201d she said on her family\u2019s podcast in September 2023. \u201cBut then, they went down this, like, victim road instead. I get wanting to leave [the royal family], but then just leave. Don\u2019t leave and then just give, \u201cWoe is me\u201d stories about how difficult it was.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sharon Osbourne<\/a><\/p>\n

Kelly isn\u2019t the only Osbourne who has issues with Meghan \u2014\u00a0her mom Sharon isn\u2019t a fan either. Speaking with Piers Morgan<\/strong> on his show, Uncensored, in September 2023, she said the couple were \u201cjust so horribly disrespectful and just a whine fest.\u201d She added: \u201cWell, do you know what? You have a great life, you have a beautiful family, and you are so much in love. Move on. Get a life and move on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maren Morris<\/a><\/p>\n

The singer-songwriter is one star who doesn\u2019t understand why the world has such a problem with Meghan. \u201cThis profound hatred and annoyance at Meghan Markle specifically \u2014 mostly coming from women, I have to say \u2014 it\u2019s unfathomable to me,\u201d she shared via TikTok in December 2022. \u201cPeople are saying, \u2018Oh, a woman should never take a man away from his family. That\u2019s all that this is.\u2019 Um, have you seen this family? I just don\u2019t [understand it]. I never have. But people have been annoyed by royals or a particular person in the royal family for centuries.\u201d<\/p>\n

This Meghan has her namesake\u2019s back. The Real Housewives of Orange County alum said that it was the Meghan & Harry Netflix series that saw her \u201cturning to their side.\u201d Sharing via her Instagram Stories in 2023, she said \u201cI think Harry seems like his mother and the two of them are in love and want to protect their kids. There\u2019s nothing more relatable in the world than that. I can only imagine how unsafe they feel judging from my baseline of often feeling vulnerable and unsafe.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kathy Griffin<\/a><\/p>\n

The comedian had her say on the controversial couple via Instagram in December 2022 \u2014\u00a0and, yet again, the Duchess is being criticized for not owning up to her remarkable trajectory enough. \u201cActing like they can do so much good in the world, which is great and aspirational,\u201d she said. \u201cBut when\u2019s the last time a royal did anything that helped the world? That\u2019s all I\u2019m saying. [Meghan] kinda acts like she was never on Deal or No Deal and when I say \u2018kinda acts like,\u2019 I mean they don\u2019t acknowledge it at all which is hilarious to me. \u2026 You don\u2019t think it\u2019s funny when Meghan acts like she doesn\u2019t know what hair and makeup is?\u201d<\/p>\n
