Edinburgh drivers using the A720<\/a> on Sunday have been warned of delays.<\/p>\n

Traffic<\/a> could be seen building on the Edinburgh Bypass from around 1pm, with delays of up to 30 minutes. Motorists<\/a> have been warned of a ‘high volume’ at the Gilmerton Junction westbound.<\/p>\n

Lane restrictions are also in place between the Baberton and Dreghorn Junctions.<\/p>\n

Traffic Scotland said: “The A720 westbound from Gilmerton Junction currently has high volumes of traffic and travel systems indicate 27 minutes delays.<\/p>\n

“Road users are advised to use caution on approach.”<\/p>\n

On Twitter, they added: “Long queues on the A720 this afternoon, especially heading west.<\/p>\n

“There doesn’t seem to be any particular reason for it other than volume of traffic. Both the M8 and the M9\/A8 around Newbridge also slow.”<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the city, road users have been advise to use caution when crossing the Forth Road Bridge amid high winds.<\/p>\n
