A 21-year-old man has appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court charged with two attempted murders and a fire-raising.<\/p>\n

A mas has appeared in court after the homes of two senior Daniel crime clan<\/a> members were allegedly “firebombed” amid a gangland<\/a> turf war.<\/p>\n

Police Scotland arrested and charged a 21-year-old man in connection with two attempted murders<\/a> and a fire-raising in Glasgow and Bishopbriggs last month.<\/p>\n

He made a first appearance at Glasgow Sheriff Court<\/a> this week.<\/p>\n

We told how a Glasgow factory linked to the Daniel Crime family <\/a>had been “firebombed” on April 8.<\/p>\n

Police<\/a> were called out to the Carpet and Flooring factory on Wellington Road, Bishopbriggs, after the business unit went up in flames.<\/p>\n

Legal papers showed Daniel crime associate Craig ‘Rob Roy’ Gallagher<\/a> – who was jailed for an axe attack on Lyons associates – is listed as a director of a firm at the unit.<\/p>\n

Six days later a property on John Marshall Drive in Bishopbriggs, believed to be owned by Steven “Bonzo” Daniel<\/a>, went up in flames on April 14.<\/p>\n

A second house on Colston Drive in the East Dunbartonshire town was also allegedly firebombed<\/a> in the early hours of the same night.<\/p>\n

The property is the home of pensioner Norman Daniel, brother of late kingpin Jamie Daniel.<\/p>\n

Police said no one was injured in the three fires.<\/p>\n

It comes after four men were arrested and charged in connection with gangland<\/a> firebombings at properties in Edinburgh and Lanarkshire.<\/p>\n

On the morning of Friday, May 23, officers executed warrants<\/a> at addresses in Edinburgh, Whitburn and Bathgate.<\/p>\n

Cops arrested and charged<\/a> three men aged 18 and one aged 31 with fire-raising at the home of David McMillan Snr, a close pal of mob boss Mark Richardson, on Pitcairn Grove on Thursday, May 8.<\/p>\n

One of the 18-year-olds and the 31-year-old man were also arrested<\/a> and charged in connection with fire-raising at Deuce Private Hire on Cumbernauld Road in Stepps on the same date.<\/p>\n

Officers were seen standing guard and police<\/a> tape around the unit where the main front office window was boarded up in images from the scene.<\/p>\n

Another picture showed CID officers<\/a> examining the scene with one officer pictured wearing blue forensic gloves.<\/p>\n

The four men charged are expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court<\/a> on Monday, May 26.<\/p>\n

The arrests are being treated as part of a series of linked incidents<\/a> across the country, with a total of 41 people arrested.<\/p>\n

Sources say trouble flared between the rival factions after hoods linked to caged mobster<\/a> Mark Richardson were accused of ripping off Ross McGill, known as Mr Big, over a stash of cocaine worth \u00a3500,000.<\/p>\n

Detective Chief Superintendent Dave Ferry said: \u201cI want to reiterate that violence<\/a> will not be tolerated and we will not stop until we bring those responsible to justice.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe continue to work tirelessly and are following a number of positive lines of enquiry<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe support of our communities is absolutely vital<\/a> when it comes to tackling serious organised crime, preventing violence and getting justice for victims. I want to again thank the public for their continued help and information so far.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you know anything about these dangerous<\/a> and abhorrent acts, please do the right thing and speak to us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland<\/a> via 101 quoting incident number 0562 of Friday, 21 March, 2025. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.<\/p>\n

McMillan Snr’s home was previously targeted on April 17, when masked thugs<\/a> set the front door of his property on fire while children slept inside.<\/p>\n

And on Thursday May 22 another incident occurred when a “machete attack” left the 54-year-old in hospital with serious injuries.<\/p>\n

A source told the Record on Friday: \u201cDavid <\/a>saw a gang of four guys outside his house. So he went out to confront them along with a security guy he\u2019s employed to help his wife feel safer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe managed to hit one about the head and wrestled a phone from him. The attackers <\/a>were trying to film it.<\/p>\n

“David was then hit in the skull with the machete which left an open wound. Nothing life threatening though. But he and his minder then still managed to chase <\/a>them away.<\/p>\n

“David then drove himself to the hospital<\/a>. When cops<\/a> on patrol realised it was him they escorted him to hospital with their blue lights on so they could jump the traffic lights.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cops have committed to coming down hard on those involved in the violence<\/a> in an investigation known as Operation Portaledge<\/a>, with dawn raids on multiple properties.<\/p>\n

Police Scotland <\/a>Chief Constable Jo Farrell said the investigation is a priority for forensics teams.<\/p>\n
