A man from Merseyside was hospitalised after suffering a gunshot wound in Thailand, according to reports. Thai outlet Khaosad reports<\/a> that a man, understood to be from Wirral<\/a>, was hospitalised after an incident at the Soi Chaiyaphruek 1 block in Pattaya, Thailand on Tuesday, April 9.<\/p>\n It says that police were called to the address after the man had suffered serious injuries. At the scene, police found the man on the floor of the room, having sustained a bullet wound to his forehead.<\/p>\n Medical staff provided first aid before he was taken to hospital. Khaosad reported that a friend of the man told police that he had smoked marijuana and inhaled nitrous oxide. This has not been confirmed independently.<\/p>\n The man\u2019s friend is reported to have said: “While I was sleeping, I heard my English friend pull the trigger with a loud click, but nothing happened.<\/p>\n “Not long after, I heard a gunshot. Before I got up to investigate, I found my best friend lying in a pool of blood.<\/p>\n “I quickly called my friend to notify the authorities to come and investigate. I ran down to ask for help from the condo’s security guard.”<\/p>\n A video posted on YouTube from Thai news outlet Channel 7HD shows medical staff and police officers at the scene, tending to a patient on the floor before a stretcher is brought in. Photographs of what appear to be laughing gas paraphernalia and a revolver are then shown on screen.<\/p>\n Officers are shown searching a room before a man with a Merseyside accent can be heard speaking to officers. He can be heard saying: “He put in the chamber, I said \u2018what are you doing, you\u2019ve got children, you\u2019ve got a family, what are you doing?\u2019”<\/p>\n He added: “So I rushed out to come here. Everything ok, we chill, we chill, we chill. I fall asleep but I hear \u2018bang\u2019.”<\/p>\n
