target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishnews.com\/search\/?query=%22richard%20neal%22%20\">Richard Neal <\/a>and Mike Kelly, the chair of the Friends of Ireland group, urged the government to \u201creach a reasonably timely final decision\u201d, according to the Financial Times.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"c-link\" class=\"c-paragraph\">They added: \u201cWe believe that a fair and timely adjudication of the merits of this project would send the message to investors worldwide that NI is truly a place they should feel confident doing business.\u201d The politicians also expressed concern that \u201cyet again\u201d reviews of the project had been extended, the FT wrote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A spokesperson for the executive office said: \u201cThe matter is currently subject to a public inquiry and on receipt of the Planning Appeals Commission\u2019s report, the Department for Infrastructure will work to reach a decision on the issue as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The letter was sent in November after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishnews.com\/news\/northern-ireland\/almost-half-a-million-spent-so-far-on-public-inquiry-into-gold-mine-clone-VA44MXYI4FALVDY2D436CY2GLY\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" Centre in Omagh in January but were suspended after three days over failures to properly consult with the Irish Government or Donegal County Council over cross border issues, particularly in relation to the impact on rivers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Dalradian, owned by Orion Resources, has been working to develop the Curraghinalt site near Greencastle for 15 years, and claims that it could create 1,000 jobs and add \u00a34bn to the local economy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">However, campaigners opposing the plan have cited the health and environmental impacts in an Area of drawn out planning process.
