Chairman Tom Werner paid tribute to the job performed by Arne Slot in guiding Liverpool to the Premier League<\/a> title. And he said: “We owe it to all of our supporters to bring back a team even better next season.”<\/p>\n The Fenway Sports Group<\/a> chief was at Anfield<\/a> on Sunday alongside the club’s principal owner John W Henry<\/a> and Mike Gordon as the Reds marked their 20th league title with a spectacular trophy ceremony after a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.<\/p>\n The event completed a remarkable 12 months for Slot<\/a> at Anfield having succeeded Jurgen Klopp<\/a> last year and Werner was fulsome in his praise for the head coach.<\/p>\n READ MORE: Liverpool transfers imminent amid Milos Kerkez tease as scenes speak volumes<\/a>READ MORE: Mohamed Salah admits Saudi Arabia transfer talks as Liverpool contract truth emerges<\/a><\/p>\n And the FSG<\/a> official hinted the club will look to consolidate their position with a big summer transfer window as a \u00a330m Jeremie Frimpong move edges ever closer and talks continue over signing his \u00a3125m-rated Bayer Leverkusen team-mate Florian Wirtz.<\/p>\n \u201cIt’s extraordinary,” Werner <\/a>said. “We obviously had high hopes for this season but he has been an extraordinary coach. I think there have been three coaches who have won the Premier League in their first season and Arne is one of them. He is just an extraordinary leader.<\/p>\n \u201cGreat compliment to Arne, he’s authentic, he’s not trying to be anyone else. The team was an extraordinarily good team but he brought the best out of them.<\/p>\n \u201cWe go again. It never gets old, winning. We owe it to all of our supporters to bring back a team even better next season. It’s already (a) busy (summer).”<\/p>\n Werner added: \u201cIt’s a very emotional day, a great day to be a Liverpool supporter and I’m so happy Mo (Mohamed Salah<\/a>) scored that goal as it made a perfect ending for what was a magical season.<\/p>\n \u201cIt’s true (I was tearing up). You hear the song You’ll Never Walk Alone at Anfield and it’s hard to describe.<\/p>\n \u201cI tell my friends around the world you have to hear the connection between the supporters and the team. It was just a beautiful moment.”<\/p>\n Werner also expressed a word of gratitude for Trent Alexander-Arnold<\/a>, who leaves the club at the age of 26 as a free agent to join Real Madrid having won two Premier League titles with his boyhood club alongside a string of additional honours including the 2019 Champions League<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cHe did get the send-off,” Werner said. “We were with him a couple of days ago and we thanked him.
