Rumors have been swirling since as far back as 2022 that Bullet Train star Aaron Taylor-Johnson would be the perfect actor to play the next iteration of the iconic James Bond<\/a> character. Now, a new social media post has fans wondering if the rumors are one step closer to becoming reality.<\/p>\n

Per Screen Rant<\/a>, the Nosferatu<\/a> actor and watch company Omega shared a joint post on Instagram<\/a> of Taylor-Johnson, the brand\u2019s ambassador, posing in a very Bond-like way to show off an Omega watch. The photo features Taylor-Johnson posing in front of an Omega sign wearing one of the company\u2019s signature watches<\/strong> with the caption: \u201cOMEGA welcomes Aaron Taylor-Johnson to our watchmaking home in Bienne. The actor and Golden Globe winner stepped into our watchmaking home for an exclusive tour, meeting the watchmakers behind our timepieces.\u201d<\/p>\n

So far, the Instagram post has more than 183,000 likes and over 800 comments, with many of the comments wondering if Taylor-Johnson will be the next Bond. \u201cDo I hear the 007 theme?\u201d<\/strong> one commenter wrote. Another posted, \u201cHello, Mr. Bond, we have been expecting you,\u201d and still another one said, \u201cNew James Bond?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Omega\u2019s History with James Bond<\/p>\n

The Omega brand has a long history with the James Bond franchise, which dates to 1995. Brosnan\u2019s 007 wore an Omega Seamaster watch in GoldenEye<\/a>. He also wore an Omega brand watch in his three films after that one. Craig donned an Omega watch in all five of his James Bond movies. <\/strong>In Casino Royale<\/a>, Craig\u2019s Bond and Vesper (Eva Green) have a brief discussion about his watch. So, the Taylor-Johnson, Omega collab will only fuel the rumor fires.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Daniel Craig, who first played James Bond in Casino Royale (2006)<\/strong>, said goodbye to the role of 007 with 2021\u2019s No Time to Die. <\/a>This year, it was announced that James Bond franchise producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson had granted Amazon total control over the Bond franchise<\/a> after Amazon purchased MGM in 2022. <\/strong>Other actors who have played Bond include Sean Connery<\/a>, who played the original Bond in 1962\u2019s Dr. No, as well as George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, and Pierce Brosnan.<\/p>\n

Rumors Started 3 Years Ago<\/p>\n

Rumors began to circulate in 2022 that Taylor-Johnson would take over the role. In 2023, Puck News<\/a> reported that the actor had met with Broccoli to talk about the role, but that was not confirmed. That same year, Taylor-Johnson, in an interview with Esquire<\/a>, played coy about the role. \u201cIt\u2019s not really for me to say anything,\u201d<\/strong> he said at that time.<\/p>\n

The Kraven the Hunter<\/a> star also neither confirmed nor denied <\/a>the rumors in a December 2024 appearance on Good Morning America.<\/a> \u201cI love slipping on a tuxedo,\u201d he said. \u201cDo you know what? I wear a tuxedo in Kraven the Hunter! <\/strong>You should come see this movie. It\u2019s got a ton of action, and it\u2019s a thrill ride, honestly,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Taylor-Johnson will soon be seen in Danny Boyle\u2019s zombie horror film <\/a>28 Years Later,<\/a> which hits theaters on June 20. The James Bond film franchise is streaming on Prime Video.<\/p>\n
