Leeds United are currently on the lookout for a new goalkeeper as they prepare for their return to the Premier League.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Illan Meslier lost his place in the Leeds United<\/a> starting XI towards the end of the season due to a number of high-profile errors.<\/p>\n

With Meslier\u2019s contract expiring next summer, Leeds could well look to offload the Frenchman, but they\u2019ll need a replacement.<\/p>\n

Now, the Whites are reported to be in loan talks for a goalkeeper from a title-winning club who has been praised for his \u201cgreat potential\u201d.<\/p>\n

Leeds United in loan talks over Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz<\/p>\n

Leeds are said to be in talks over a move for Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz, according to BILD<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old joined Bayern for around \u00a34million in 2023, but he has only made seven outings for the Bundesliga giants.<\/p>\n

Peretz dreams of becoming Bayern\u2019s first-choice keeper in the future and, in order to fulfil this ambition, he wants to gain experience out on loan next term.<\/p>\n

Leeds are one of several clubs keen on Peretz, with fellow Premier League newcomers Burnley and Italian side Genoa also in pursuit.<\/p>\n

However, all three clubs are said to be trailing to PSV Eindhoven in pursuit of the Israel international.<\/p>\n

PSV are ahead because they can offer Champions League football to Peretz, while current keeper Walter Benitez is deemed likely to leave this summer.<\/p>\n

As for Bayern, their only prerequisite is that Peretz gets plenty of first-team football.<\/p>\n

How Leeds could beat PSV to Daniel Peretz signature<\/p>\n

Peretz is a top talent who has all the tools needed to become a goalkeeping great, but he needs to be getting regular game time.<\/p>\n

Bayern have high hopes for him, but with Manuel Neuer penning a one-year extension earlier this year, Peretz\u2019s route is likely to be blocked until 2026.<\/p>\n

Peretz would be a solid upgrade on both Darlow and Meslier, and there\u2019s a good chance he would be their first-choice keeper from the off.<\/p>\n

In addition, Leeds could offer Peretz Premier League football, and they could potentially have another Israel international playing for them in Manor Solomon.<\/p>\n

Even if Solomon doesn\u2019t sign permanently for Leeds, there\u2019s always the possibility of him putting a good word in to Peretz.<\/p>\n

The Bundesliga website<\/a> previously compared Peretz\u2019s style of play to that of Spain legend Iker Casillas.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u2018Peretz is a masterful shot-stopper, as highlighted by his penalty expertise and general all-around performances that have seen the young \u2018keeper flying from corner to corner repelling shots,\u2019 they wrote.<\/p>\n

\u2018He is also a highly modern custodian in that he is excellent with the ball at his feet and accurate with his distribution.<\/p>\n

\u2018Look out for the short-sleeved shirts, too, which immediately bring to mind great goalies of the \u201990s and, as a package, Peretz makes for exciting viewing.\u2019<\/p>\n

The website also quotes Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen as saying: \u201cWith Daniel Peretz, we\u2019re very well equipped in our goalkeeping team in terms of prospects \u2013 both for this season and the future.<\/p>\n
