Tottenham Hotspur could have banked a potential extra \u00a38.4 million on the final day of the Premier League season, but their second-half collapse proved costly in more ways than one.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tottenham Hotspur\u2019s<\/a> 2024\/25 season will be remembered as the campaign where the club finally ended its 17-year wait for silverware and ended a 41-year drought in European competition.<\/p>\n

However, while their European exploits brought joy to the fanbase, the domestic campaign painted a far bleaker picture, with Tottenham finishing the season in 17th place after losing 22 of their 38 Premier League games.<\/p>\n

Sunday\u2019s final league clash summed up much of their season, as Ange Postecoglou\u2019s<\/a> men led Brighton and Hove Albion at half-time \u2013 but they capitulated in the second half, conceding four goals at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium<\/a> in what was a woeful end to their league campaign.<\/p>\n

It has now been revealed by football.london<\/a> that Tottenham missed out on \u00a38.4 million on the final day of the Premier League<\/a> season.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the clash against Brighton on Sunday, Spurs<\/a> were well aware that a victory, combined with favourable results elsewhere, could lift them three places up the table to 14th.<\/p>\n

That scenario looked on course for around half an hour, as Tottenham led and other scores across the league worked in their favour.<\/p>\n

But the second-half collapse meant not only another defeat but also that their rivals around them picked up results, confirming a 17th-place finish regardless of what they did.<\/p>\n

According to football.london, every Premier League position is worth between \u00a32 million and \u00a33 million in prize money, with last season\u2019s figure averaging around \u00a32.8 million per place.<\/p>\n

By finishing 17th instead of 14th, Spurs effectively missed out on approximately \u00a38.4 million in final league standings revenue based on the previous season\u2019s financial model.<\/p>\n

While Tottenham have missed out on \u00a38.4 million in Premier League prize money, their deep run in the Europa League<\/a> has more than compensated for that domestic shortfall.<\/p>\n

It was revealed just days ago that Tottenham\u2019s journey from the League phase all the way to the Europa League final has earned the club \u00a338.7 million.<\/a><\/p>\n

In addition, Spurs are also expected to bank a further \u00a33.4 million for their participation in the UEFA Super Cup,<\/a> where they will go head-to-head with either Inter Milan or Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.<\/p>\n
