Manchester United<\/a> are reportedly eyeing a \u00a360m move for Tyler Dibling<\/a> \u2014 a player recently described as \u2018the most talented\u2019 his former manager has ever seen.<\/p>\n

Despite Southampton\u2019s<\/a> miserable return to the Premier League<\/a> \u2014 ending in one of the quickest relegations in history \u2014 Dibling has been a shining light in an otherwise dim campaign. His dominant midfield presence, paired with a nice tally of four goals and two assists, has led to the 19-year-old receiving plenty of interest from a plethora of Premier League sides, including United.<\/p>\n

It was initially reported that the Saints had valued Dibling at \u00a3100m. However, with their relegation confirmed and the growing sense that Dibling won\u2019t want to remain at St Mary\u2019s, Southampton aren’t likely to receive that fee with a new price tag listed at around \u00a360m.<\/p>\n

The England U19 international is under contract with the south-coast club until 2027, which could explain the hefty valuation. However, the midfielder is worth every last penny, according to former Southampton boss Russell Martin.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the Rest is Football podcast,<\/a> Martin was quizzed by Gary Lineker about the youngster’s talent and made quite the reveal. “The most talented player that I’ve ever seen,” he explained.<\/p>\n

Lineker was visibly taken aback by that response and questioned: “Most talented you’ve ever seen, or most talented you’ve ever worked with?” “Who I’ve worked with,” Martin clarified.<\/p>\n

“Tyler has every capability to go and play for England and at the very top level for a very long time because he’s powerful, he’s really quick, both feet can shoot. He has something I’ve not seen in a British player in a long time.<\/p>\n

“To be able to take the ball in the middle of the park and swivel and go. He’ll play as a number eight or ten eventually. But he’s 18-years-old.<\/p>\n

“We played him out wide and he was incredible. He needs the right style of play and right environment to really thrive.<\/p>\n

“I don’t think he’ll be cheap for them but he’ll be worth every penny. When I went into the club, everyone told me: ‘He’s the one to look for.’<\/p>\n

“So I hope he ends up, whether it’s at Southampton with the right coach, or if he moves, that he ends up with the right person to really understand him and allow him to be how he is. He’s a lovely boy.”<\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim<\/a> favours intelligent, hard-working footballers \u2014 qualities Dibling has already shown in abundance at just 19. His ability to create space and dribble past players will be appreciated, and the youngster could welcome the opportunity to play alongside Bruno Fernandes<\/a>.<\/p>\n
