VOTE NOW"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>King Charles and Queen Camilla arrived in Ottawa on Monday for the monarch&#8217;s first visit to Canada since becoming head of state.<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister Mark Carney greeted the royal couple as they disembarked from the Royal Canadian Air Force plane that had flown them from RAF Brize Norton.<\/p>\n<p>The visit holds significant symbolic importance, showing support for the nation that recognises Charles as sovereign but is coveted by US President Donald Trump as a potential &#8220;51st state&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has repeatedly expressed a desire to annex Canada, a proposition fiercely rebuffed by Carney.<\/p>\n<p>The 76-year-old king, who is undergoing cancer treatment, will open parliament on Tuesday following an invitation from Carney.<\/p>\n<p>It will be just the third time a sovereign has delivered a &#8220;speech from the throne&#8221; in the Canadian Senate.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The king, as head of state, will reinforce the power and the strength of that message,&#8221; said Canada&#8217;s envoy to the UK, Ralph Goodale, referring to Carney&#8217;s stance that &#8220;Canada is not for sale now, is not for sale ever&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>With that being said should the Royal Family stay out of politics?
