Utd ready to trigger Moise Kean’s release clause

Manchester United go into the transfer market with full knowledge that a chronic lack of goals is the main reason why they suffered such a nightmare season.

That is reflected in their early transfer activity, signing one prolific No. 10 (Cunha), targeting another (Mbeumo), and agreeing terms with a striker (Delap), as per ESPN.

Their financial situation means they are prioritising free transfers and players with release clauses, which is where Moise Kean enters the fray.

Italian outlet Sport Mediaset reports that United are ready to trigger the Fiorentina striker’s release clause worth £43.5 million.

The report states that entering a bidding war for the likes of Viktor Gyokeres is not thought to be suitable at Man Utd considering they don’t have European football on offer and are working with a small budget.

Kean, therefore, hits the sweet spot of a player on the rise after a breakout campaign, and one who has prior Premier League experience.

Moise Kean could be driven to set things right

Kean has prior Premier League experience but saying that with confidence is the same as saying that Angel di Maria has Premier League experience.

The reality is that Kean’s time at Everton was a nightmare, the striker never really living up to the weight of expectations before moving back to Italy.

However, now that he has rediscovered his scoring touch and confidence, he could be driven to set things right by making a move to Old Trafford.

Kean is much more seasoned now, having seen the highs and lows in his career, while his prior experience in England will speed up the acclimatising process.

There are countless examples of players who struggled in the Premier League when they made the move too soon, but flourished when they returned after a spell away.

Mohamed Salah famously left Chelsea for Fiorentina/Roma before returning to Liverpool and becoming a legend. By no means it’s insinuated that Kean will be as good as Salah, but it’s worth mentioning before writing him off for his sour experience in England.

Getting both Delap and Kean for Gyokeres money will be quite a good move for United.

Manchester United’s overhaul of the squad after a disastrous season is picking up pace quickly as they’ve already…

[4100
94,2969,59450,79,16,15
0":"post-135722","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-football","8":"tag-football","9":"tag-liam-delap","10":"tag-moise-kean","11":"tag-sports","12":"tag-uk","13":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
