Fear Street: Prom Queen<\/a> has slashed its way onto Netflix<\/a>, continuing the hit horror trilogy<\/a> from 2021.<\/p>\n

The sequel takes us back to Shadyside, this time in 1988 as Shadyside High is celebrating its latest prom. This is Shadyside though, so of course there’s a killer on the loose who’s making sure the race for prom queen gets bloody.<\/p>\n

But who is the killer and why are they doing it? Let’s get straight into it by delving into Fear Street: Prom Queen’s biggest twists to explain all. Major spoilers <\/strong>ahead.<\/p>\n

Fear Street: Prom Queen ending explained<\/p>\n

We’ll cut to the chase (pun intended): the killers in Fear Street: Prom Queen are Tiffany’s parents Nancy and Dan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Tiffany is also clearly aware of her parents’ murderous attempts to get her crowned prom queen by default, but we’ll get to that in a bit.<\/p>\n

Initially, it seems as though there’s only one killer. However, when it’s Melissa’s time to die, it’s revealed that there are actually two killers on the loose.<\/p>\n

When Lori and Tiffany are the only prom queen candidates left, Dan is unmasked as one of the killers when he tries to kill Lori’s best friend Megan, only for Lori to stab him in the eye with her newly-won tiara.<\/p>\n

Why did Dan get involved? He just wanted Tiffany to be prom queen: “I knew how much you wanted it, both of you. Nobody remembers the details, they only remember the winner.”<\/p>\n

His plan failed since Lori was named prom queen, and while Nancy also just wanted her daughter to be prom queen, it turns out that she also has a much more personal reason to kill Lori.<\/p>\n

Tiffany persuades Lori to stay with her after the prom, which turns out to be a terrible idea when Nancy comes home wielding a knife. It’s an even worse call when Tiffany tries to stab Lori when they’re ‘hiding’ from Nancy in the closet.<\/p>\n

It doesn’t seem as though Tiffany actually killed anybody at prom though with her parents likely taking turns to keep up appearances, shielding Tiffany from any suspicion that she might have been involved.<\/p>\n

Nancy stabs Lori in the back as she tries to run away, leading to her confession that she was the one who killed Lori’s father while her mother was pregnant with Lori. It was her mother who was accused of killing her husband, shaming the family name in Shadyside.<\/p>\n

And it was all because Nancy was with Lori’s dad first. <\/p>\n

“He was mine first, you know, before your skank of a mother came along. You Grangers are always taking things that belong to us. My face was the last thing that he ever saw,” Nancy tells Lori.<\/p>\n

Nancy then makes the error to let Tiffany kill Lori as she kicks Tiffany, leading her to fall through the railings and get impaled on a statue below.<\/p>\n

Lori takes advantage of Nancy’s shock and gets her hands on a trophy, fatally hitting Nancy over the head with it and leaving her to die.<\/p>\n

A mid-credit scene confirms that Nancy is actually dead, but her killer ways are maybe not her fault. The blood pouring out of her head forms the witch’s mark we saw in the original trilogy, suggesting she was just another cursed Shadyside resident.<\/p>\n

In case you needed reminded, the Shadyside curse<\/a> was the result of the Goode family making a deal with the Devil in 1666, which saw them offer a “single soul” every few years for their family’s prosperity. <\/p>\n

This curse turned the soul chosen into a murderer so that the Devil could feed on the blood of their victims. Since the curse wasn’t broken until 1994, then Nancy was just another victim of the curse.<\/p>\n

No excuse for her husband Dan though, to be honest.<\/p>\n
