warning over &#8216;silent&#8217; cancer most people have never heard of as cases soar in under 50s &#8211; the symptoms everyone MUST know"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">A kidney <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/cancer\/index.html\" id=\"mol-6fe72530-3ae0-11f0-87df-9b0fa105ea3c\" rel=\"noopener\">cancer<\/a>\u00a0campaigner has urgently warned people not ignore the early signs of the disease that most people either don&#8217;t know about or don&#8217;t take seriously.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">In the UK, around <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cancerresearchuk.org\/health-professional\/cancer-statistics\/statistics-by-cancer-type\/kidney-cancer#heading-Zero\">13,000 people<\/a> are diagnosed with kidney cancer\u201438 every day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The \u2018silent\u2019 cancer, which is among the <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/27727232\/\">fastest growing<\/a>, is often symptomless in early stages so is often not diagnosed until later stages, when it has spread to other areas of the body and survival rates plummet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">This warning has come over fears a lack of awareness of seemingly harmless symptoms is putting lives in danger.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Despite being the <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cancerresearchuk.org\/health-professional\/cancer-statistics\/incidence\/common-cancers-compared#heading-Zero\">sixth most common cancer<\/a>,\u00a0Malcolm Packer, CEO of Kidney Cancer UK, told the <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.co.uk\/entry\/kidney-cancer-symptoms_uk_682c71a2e4b0dc52ee2c79da\">Huffington Post<\/a>, it is \u2018dangerously under-recognised&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u2018Kidney cancer is one of the fastest-growing cancers in the UK,&#8217; he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Mortality rates for kidney cancer have risen by <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cancerresearchuk.org\/health-professional\/cancer-statistics\/statistics-by-cancer-type\/kidney-cancer\/mortality\">73 per cent in the UK since the 1970s<\/a>, with <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/go.skimresources.com\/?id=134214X1597519&amp;isjs=1&amp;jv=15.2.2&amp;sref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.huffingtonpost.co.uk%2Fentry%2Fkidney-cancer-symptoms_uk_682c71a2e4b0dc52ee2c79da&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.nature.com%2Farticles%2Fs44276-025-00149-y&amp;xs=1&amp;xtz=-60&amp;xuuid=43c6641fcc48cf9e104043a4f127344f&amp;xjsf=other_click__auxclick%20%5B2%5D\">cases soaring<\/a> among those under 50.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">However, the CEO, highlighting the importance of knowing the early signs, said: \u2018Catching kidney cancer early can dramatically improve outcomes.\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">He shared the key symptoms to look out for, including those that &#8216;seem mild or unrelated at first glance\u2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Blood in the urine\u2014even once\u2014 is the most common and potentially most telling early sign.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">And the discolouration is not always obvious, according to Mr Packer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">It may appear bright pink or red, but it can also feature a very slight tinge.
