The Woking-based team has remained very calm over the upcoming changes.

Jos has urged for fairness in the F1 paddock, and wants to see those who have benefited from a flexible front wing lose their advantage.

“For the fans and for Formula 1, this is an ideal scenario,” Jos told De Telegraaf. “They want to have an exciting season and not someone who wins 20 races so that it becomes monotonous.

“But I do think there should be a level playing field. Like with the flexible front wings, which won’t be banned until next week in Spain. Then certain teams have benefited from that for too long. I don’t think that’s fair.”

     ‘Strangers’ approach Jos

Unlike in recent years, Jos has been absent from the paddock for much of the season; however, he returned in Monaco.

It meant he missed Max’s victory in Imola, and his remarkable opening corner overtake on Oscar Piastri. Unsurprisingly, Jos has been approached by many over the move.

“Max makes the difference,” added Jos. “With an action like that I jump a hole in the air, also from disbelief. I notice it in the reactions.

“Strangers came up to me to talk about it. Everyone thinks what he does is unbelievable. But that’s Max. In the karts he already showed this kind of action.”

Jos continued on Max’s sharpness: “You saw that in Imola at the restart after the safety car. How fierce and sharp he is then, great! Then you see that drive. And it’s still there, one hundred percent.

“They must be very happy here at Red Bull that they have Max. I think they realise that. He’s just a very nice youngster, but don’t make him angry. Then he can get very nasty. As long as he feels like his team is doing everything they can. And right now I do think he has that feeling.”

Jos Verstappen, the father of Max, has backed the new front wing technical directive being introduced in this…

[4103
859,4199,1076,1074,1077,1075,997,707,4200,998,1073,1072,1071,79,16,15
0":"post-136062","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-f1","8":"tag-daniel-ricciardo","9":"tag-f1","10":"tag-f1-calendar","11":"tag-f1-live","12":"tag-f1-results","13":"tag-f1-standings","14":"tag-ferrari","15":"tag-formula-1","16":"tag-formula1","17":"tag-lewis-hamilton","18":"tag-max-verstappen","19":"tag-motorsport","20":"tag-racing","21":"tag-sports","22":"tag-uk","23":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
