Mosaics sit as a bridge between architecture and the arts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mesguich first began to work with mosaics when designing a fountain to install in a city square he was planning. He immediately fell in love with the creative act. \u201cWhen you\u2019re a town planner, it takes years to see what you imagine as there are so many restrictions and regulations,\u201d he notes. \u201cWith mosaic, you are free. He credits the Peter Marino-designed <a data-offer-url=\"https:\/\/www.petermarinoarchitect.com\/interior-design\/work\/guerlain\" class=\"external-link\" data-event-click=\"{&quot;element&quot;:&quot;ExternalLink&quot;,&quot;outgoingURL&quot;:&quot;https:\/\/www.petermarinoarchitect.com\/interior-design\/work\/guerlain&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/www.petermarinoarchitect.com\/interior-design\/work\/guerlain\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Guerlain store<\/a> on Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es, where he installed gilded floor-to-ceiling mosaics that feel like \u201cwalking into the bottle of perfume\u201d as his first big break.<\/p>\n<p>He joined forces with Larif in Barcelona in 2010, finding that their respective approaches to mosaic were perfectly complementary. Mesguich is incredibly precise, bringing to life exactly what a client requests; Larif takes a more artistic approach, using glass off-cuts and shards to create one-of-a-kind works in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com\/article\/elizabeth-metcalfe-new-english-interiors-winter-color-tips\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">unexpected color combinations<\/a>.
