John Sugden has put a stop to his former lover Aidan Moore once and for all as he prepared to tie the knot with Aaron Dingle on Emmerdale<\/p>\n

John Sugden made a devastating move tonight on Emmerdale<\/a> – as secrets continue to be unearthed. John killed Nate in a shock twist,<\/a> that was revealed earlier this year, whilst a number of other people close to him also cheated death.<\/p>\n

One of those was Aidan Moore – John’s former fianc\u00e9. He had been in a coma for years, his mum keeping a bedside vigil, <\/a>but suddenly a few days ago, he woke from his coma – leaving John instantly panicked.<\/p>\n

At the start of tonight’s episode, John suffered a nightmare where Aidan walked in and tried to stop his wedding – but his thoughts only convinced John there was something he needed to do and he headed to the hospital with Aidan’s mum.<\/p>\n

“I can’t tell you how much you coming here means to me,” she told him, “You two went through so much together. I know you being here is going to make a difference to his recovery. You are so important to me.”<\/p>\n

Kathleen then dropped the bombshell that Aidan had been asking for John a lot, and he went in to see his former lover. John then asked Kathleen to leave them alone for a moment, as Aidan told him: “You!”<\/p>\n

“Why? Why did you have to start talking?” John told him, sparking fears he was going to do something bad. “I loved you, more than you ever did me,” he told Aidan, “I tried to show you how much you needed me… I saved you. It was only because you were too weak that it ended like us… It wasn’t like that – I save people. It’s what I do, it’s who I am.”<\/p>\n

John then went on to tell Aidan about Aaron and how much he loves him. As Aidan tried to reach for the help button on his bed, John pulled out a syringe and made his motives very clear.<\/p>\n

“I never wanted to have to do this but you gave me no choice. I wanted something painless so you’d just drop off but my mum wouldn’t leave me alone so this is all I could grab,” he said before silencing the machine and injecting the liquid. However, at the last minute, he couldn’t do it – but Aidan suffered a cardiac arrest.<\/p>\n

It has now been revealed that Aidan is played by an actor called Geoff Dignan, but he slipped back into a coma after the heart attack. Whilst he’s not dead, does this show Aidan’s days are numbered in the Dales?<\/p>\n

John recalled previously of what happened between him and Aidan: “I tried my best to save him. I told him I could but I was lying, I had to. I could see the fear in his eyes. I held his hand as he slowly slipped away.<\/p>\n

“Aidan thought I could save him and I let him down. I can never forgive myself for that.” We also know that John has tried to save multiple people, including Nate who eventually was killed by John in a shock twist.<\/p>\n
