Kathy Hochul and other New York politicians <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/05\/27\/us-news\/trumps-bid-to-end-nyc-congestion-pricing-temporarily-blocked-by-federal-judge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gloat over court rulings<\/a> that protect their \u201ccongestion pricing\u201d fees, ponder this: London\u2019s \u201ccongestion\u201d levy is about to jump to nearly $25, up from $20.<\/p>\n<p>That is: A toll set at \u00a35 back in 2003 had tripled to \u00a315 by 2020 will now jump to \u00a318 at year\u2019s end.<\/p>\n<p>Transport for London, the MTA-equivalent agency that sets the fees, also means to phase out discounts for people who live in the \u201ccongestion zone\u201d and for electric vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, London charges older, higher-emissions vehicles an \u00a312.50 fee to travel inside the \u201cUltra Low Emission Zone,\u201d which covers the entire city, so some motorists get hit with $40 a day in fees.<\/p>\n<p>Naturally, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams and other congestion-pricing fans are eager to impose \u201cLow Emission Zones\u201d here in NYC.<\/p>\n<p>The capper: Despite imposing these fees for over two decades now, London still has still won \u201cthe most congested roads in all of Europe\u201d prize each of the last four years.<\/p>\n<p>And the only way to stop New York pols from nonetheless lecturing you about how it\u2019s all for your own good is to vote them out of office.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"As Gov.
