Accor has partnered with Flinders University\u2019s Centre for Social Impact on a disability employment program in Melbourne, that it hopes to roll out across the country.<\/p>\n
Commencing this month, the Diversity Pathways project is a six-phase initiative designed to boost employment opportunities for people with cognitive disabilities in\u00a0the hospitality sector.<\/p>\n
Accor hotels and lounges in Melbourne, and later across the country, will take part in a tailored mentoring program, supported by experts in disability employment, hospitality and Disability Employment Services (DES).<\/p>\n
\u201cAccor has long been a leader in developing programs to address diversity and inclusion barriers to attract, retain and grow our teams, and this new partnership reinforces our commitment to fostering more inclusive and diverse workplaces across the industry,\u201d said Accor Pacific Chief Operating Officer, Adrian Williams.<\/p>\n
Significant expansion in hotel supply in Melbourne in particular has created more opportunities for hospitality professionals, with Accor seeking qualified and passionate people to support the opening of new hotels across the city.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe recruitment and development of hotel and hospitality staff remains a priority for the industry,\u201d\u00a0said Williams.<\/p>\n
