{"id":137787,"date":"2025-05-28T05:09:09","date_gmt":"2025-05-28T05:09:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/137787\/"},"modified":"2025-05-28T05:09:09","modified_gmt":"2025-05-28T05:09:09","slug":"guillermo-del-toro-teases-frankenstein-trailer-coming-this-saturday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/137787\/","title":{"rendered":"Guillermo del Toro teases Frankenstein trailer coming this Saturday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joblo.com\/everything-we-know-about-guillermo-del-toros-frankenstein\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Guillermo del Toro\u2019s Frankenstein<\/a> is easily one of my most anticipated movies of the year, and we\u2019ll finally get a peek at it as the director teased on <a href=\"https:\/\/bsky.app\/profile\/realgdt.bsky.social\/post\/3lpwih3v45s2v\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bluesky<\/a> that the first trailer will arrive on Saturday. The reveal will happen during Netflix Tudum 2025, the streaming giant\u2019s global fan event, which takes place on May 31.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis film has been on my mind since I was a child. I\u2019ve been trying to make it for 20-25 years,\u201d del Toro has said. \u201cSome people may even think I am a little bit obsessed with Frankenstein. And they probably would be right. Over the decades, the character has fused with my soul in a way that it has become an autobiography. It doesn\u2019t get more personal than this.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Frankenstein stars Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein, Mia Goth as Elizabeth, Christoph Waltz as Dr. Pretorius, and Jacob Elordi as Frankenstein\u2019s monster.<\/p>\n<p>        Related<br \/>\n        <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joblo.com\/emotional-frankenstein\/\" title=\"\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><br \/>\n            Guillermo del Toro\u2019s Frankenstein is \u201can incredibly emotional movie\u201d        <\/a><\/p>\n<p>During a conversation at the Cannes Film Festival with composer Alexandre Desplat, del Toro said Frankenstein is an \u201cincredible emotional movie\u201d rather than a horror movie. \u201cSomebody asked me the other day, does it have really scary scenes?\u201d he said. \u201cFor the first time, I considered that. It\u2019s an emotional story for me. It\u2019s as personal as anything. I\u2019m asking a question about being a father, being a son\u2026 I\u2019m not doing a horror movie \u2014 ever. I\u2019m not trying to do that.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Netflix screened the first footage from the film earlier this year during the Next on Netflix event in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, the footage wasn\u2019t released online, but it was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joblo.com\/frankenstein-footage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">described<\/a> as \u201clush,\u201d \u201coperatic,\u201d and \u201cgrisly,\u201d which sounds pretty damn perfect to me. Guillermo del Toro has been talking about this one for decades, and for a long time, it seemed like he wouldn\u2019t get the chance to make it, but thankfully, we\u2019re just a few short months away from seeing the movie for ourselves.
