{"id":138284,"date":"2025-05-28T09:32:09","date_gmt":"2025-05-28T09:32:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/138284\/"},"modified":"2025-05-28T09:32:09","modified_gmt":"2025-05-28T09:32:09","slug":"noah-lolesio-boost-for-joe-schmidt-after-wallabies-stars-terrifying-ordeal-planet-rugby","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/138284\/","title":{"rendered":"Noah Lolesio boost for Joe Schmidt after Wallabies star&#8217;s terrifying ordeal : Planet Rugby"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>The Wallabies have been handed a big boost after fly-half Noah Lolesio recovered from a worrying injury to take his place in the Brumbies team to face the Crusaders.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>It was only 18 days ago that the fly-half was stretchered off with concerns that he had suffered a fractured spine in a frightening incident against the Western Force.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetrugby.com\/tag\/noah-lolesio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lolesio<\/a> was cleared of any serious injury, but his return is perhaps quicker than expected after the playmaker was named in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetrugby.com\/team\/brumbies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brumbies<\/a> XV for Friday\u2019s huge clash.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNoah responded extremely positively to treatment. He got through his rehab and trained really well the back end of last week. He\u2019s confident heading into this weekend and it\u2019s great to have him back in the side,\u201d head coach Stephen Larkham said.<\/p>\n<p>Lolesio v O\u2019Connor<\/p>\n<p>Despite Lolesio\u2019s impending move to Japan, the 25-year-old is still seen as a leading contender for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetrugby.com\/team\/australia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wallabies<\/a> 10 jersey for the upcoming <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetrugby.com\/tournament\/british-and-irish-lions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">British and Irish Lions<\/a> series.<\/p>\n<p>He could well face-off with another Australian hopeful in the form of James O\u2019Connor, who is among the Crusaders\u2019 replacements for this weekend\u2019s encounter.<\/p>\n<p>The Brumbies currently reside in third position, two points behind the Christchurch outfit, but know that a victory will give them a top-two seeding going into the knockout stages.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know the importance of finishing in the top two and securing that home semi-final, it puts you in a better position to go deep into the competition. However, we know there is still a lot of work to do before then,\u201d Larkham said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Crusaders have improved on their consistency from last year. They\u2019ve had a few changes in terms of guys coming back from injury and performing.
