In Flames<\/a> have parted ways with the drummer, making them the latest band to do so in recent times.<\/p>\n

The Swedish heavy metal band took to social media yesterday (May 27) to announce the news, writing: \u201cIt is with profound gratitude and appreciation that we announce our creative decision to part ways with Tanner Wayne.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHis dedication and musicianship over the past several years has left, and will continue to leave, a lasting mark on this band. We wish him nothing but the best.\u201d<\/p>\n

They have yet to announce a replacement, and are due to embark on European festival run next week<\/a>, that will include shows at Rock Am Ring, South Of Heaven, Novarock, Rock For People<\/a>, Copenhell, Graspop Metal Meeting and more.<\/p>\n

Tanner Wayne joined In Flames in 2018. He has featured on two of the band\u2019s records; 2019\u2019s \u2018I, The Mask\u2019 and 2023\u2019s \u2018Foregone\u2019.<\/p>\n

In Flames are now the latest band to part ways with their drummers, or reform with new drummers in recent times. Back in April, it was reported that The Who had parted ways <\/a>with longtime drummer Zak Starkey. Starkey would go on to respond to the reports of his firing, seemingly confirming his departure<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Who<\/a>\u2018s Pete Townshend would then publicly decry Starkey\u2019s statement, saying that he was still in the band<\/a>. Just weeks later, The Who announced a farewell tour without Starkey, saying that \u201cthe time has come for a change\u201d<\/a>, cementing that he was no long part of the band.<\/p>\n

Last week, Starkey hit out at The Who for asking him to \u201clie\u201d about quitting<\/a> following his abrupt exit from the band: \u201cI was fired two weeks after reinstatement and asked to make a statement saying I had quit the who to pursue my other musical [endeavours],\u201d he wrote. \u201cThis would be a lie.\u201d He has since clarified\u00a0that\u00a0Roger Daltrey\u00a0told him he was \u201cretired\u201d and not \u201cfired\u201d from\u00a0The Who<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Starkey is also involved in another major shake-up, as Oasis<\/a> prepare for their reunion tour this July. Starkey was a touring member of Oasis from Alan White\u2019s departure in 2004 up until his own exit in 2008. During that time, he played on \u2018Don\u2019t Believe The Truth<\/a>\u2019 (2005) and \u2018Dig Out Your Soul<\/a>\u2019 (2008).<\/p>\n

In March,\u00a0NME\u00a0revealed the details of who will make up the full line-up for the Oasis reunion shows<\/a>, confirming that it will be Joey Waronker behind the drumkit. He played in the backing band for\u00a0Liam Gallagher and John Squire\u2019s tour last year<\/a>\u00a0and is known for his work with\u00a0Beck<\/a>,\u00a0R.E.M.<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Elliott Smith<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Starkey has since shared his disappointment at not being asked to be part of the Oasis Live \u201825\u00a0tour<\/a>, confirming his absence from their comeback gigs. During an appearance on BBC Breakfast, he said he was \u201cgutted\u201d, adding: \u201cI texted them and said, \u2018Why am I not in it?\u2019.\u201d He also added that he understands why the Gallagher brothers went with Waronker, going on to call Oasis the \u201cgreatest rock and roll band of my generation.\u201d<\/p>\n

In another drummer-related sacking, it was announced earlier this month that Josh Freese had been let go as the Foo Fighters\u2019 drummer,<\/a> with Freese saying he was \u201cshocked\u201d and \u201cdisappointed\u201d. Freese joined the Foos as their touring drummer in 2023 following\u00a0the sudden passing of their drummer Taylor Hawkins<\/a> in March 2022.<\/p>\n

He\u00a0later\u00a0jokingly shared 10 possible reasons why he was \u201cbooted\u201d from the band<\/a>, including whistling \u201c\u2018My Hero\u2019 for a week solid on tour\u201d and \u201cstarting every rehearsal with a 20 minute cowbell sound bath\u201d. His replacement has yet to be announced.<\/p>\n

Back in March, Guns N\u2019 Roses<\/a> announced an \u201camicable\u201d split with long-term drummer Frank Ferrer<\/a> after 19 years. They later\u00a0replaced him with AWOLNATION\u2019s Isaac Carpenter<\/a> and have since played their first shows with their new drummer<\/a>.<\/p>\n
