One month after the film arrived in theaters,\u00a0David F. Sandberg\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0big screen adaptation of the video game\u00a0Until Dawn<\/strong> is now available on Digital outlets at home from Sony.<\/p>\n

You can rent Until Dawn on Digital for $19.99 or purchase the film for $24.99.<\/p>\n

To whet your appetite, Sony has provided Bloody Disgusting with an alternate opening scene from the Until Dawn movie, which provides an extended version of the demise of Melanie (Maia Mitchell<\/strong>). It\u2019s Melanie\u2019s disappearance in the recent past that kickstarts the present day events of the film, and this extended cut makes it clear that she\u2019s met a grisly end.<\/p>\n

From director\u00a0David F. Sandberg\u00a0(Lights Out, Annabelle Creation, Shazam) and writer\u00a0Gary Dauberman\u00a0<\/strong>(It, The Nun),\u00a0Until Dawn\u00a0made just under $50 million at the box office.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne year after her sister Melanie mysteriously disappeared, Clover and her friends head into the remote valley where she vanished in search of answers. Exploring an abandoned visitor center, they find themselves stalked by a masked killer and horrifically murdered one by one\u2026only to wake up and find themselves back at the beginning of the same evening.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrapped in the valley, they\u2019re forced to relive the nightmare again and again \u2013 only each time the killer threat is different, each more terrifying than the last.<\/p>\n

\u201cHope dwindling, the group soon realizes they have a limited number of deaths left, and the only way to escape is to survive until dawn.\u201d<\/p>\n

The video game adaptation\u2019s cast includes\u00a0Ella Rubin<\/strong>\u00a0(The Idea of You),\u00a0Michael Cimino<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cNever Have I Ever\u201d),\u00a0Ji-young Yoo<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cExpats\u201d),\u00a0Odessa A\u2019zion<\/strong>\u00a0(Hulu\u2019s\u00a0Hellraiser),\u00a0Peter Stormare<\/strong>\u00a0(Clown, John Wick 2),\u00a0Maia Mitchell<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Belmont Cameli<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Blair Butler<\/strong>\u00a0(The Invitation) wrote the original draft, and\u00a0Gary Dauberman<\/strong>\u00a0(Salem\u2019s Lot) worked on the script. The film is said to be \u201can R-rated love letter to the horror genre.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
