Popeyes? named after Colonel Sanders\u2019 daughter Mildred &#8211; in his home town and beyond, and the firm remained in the family with Harry&#8217;s daughters until 2018, a year before Harry passed away.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">With the arrival of Popeyes, Miss Millie\u2019s wanted to mark the occasion and remind Bristolians who the OG fried chicken kings &#8211; or queens &#8211; are in the city.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/1_JS183638453.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Colonel Sanders and Harry Latham<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The ad went live even before today\u2019s big Popeyes opening at 11am, and will run for the rest of the weekend. \u201cWe wanted to welcome Popeyes to the city with a bit of Bristol charm,\u201d said a spokesperson for Miss Millie\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cWe\u2019re so proud of how fiercely independent the city is, and to have been part of it for so long, so we thought we\u2019d give them a proper Bristol welcome.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"&#8220;That&#8217;s two orange Americans too many&#8221;
