Manchester United<\/a> have been handed an update on Kobbie Mainoo<\/a> amid transfer speculation surrounding the midfielder.<\/p>\n Reports in March from The Guardian<\/a> claimed that Mainoo is minded to reject the offer of a new contract at \u00adOld Trafford<\/a> and seek a move abroad. With just two years left on his current deal, United might eventually have to sell. The Reds’ PSR position will likely force their hand.<\/p>\n It is claimed that United value Mainoo at around \u00a370million, but the question is whether any foreign club would be able to afford that fee. Only Premier League<\/a> clubs tend to pay that price, unless you are Real Madrid, who may be too big of a step up for the Englishman right now.<\/p>\n And Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported the latest on United’s academy graduate. He claims the situation around his future has gone quiet for now.<\/p>\n “At the moment, no concrete talks are taking place,” he said in his latest newsletter for GIVEMESPORT<\/a>.<\/p>\n “The situation has gone quiet. Let’s see if bids come in this summer.”<\/p>\n Mainoo has carved out a reputation as one of the most promising young talents in European football, experiencing a meteoric rise since his first Premier League<\/a> start for United against Everton in November 2023. The Reds are steadfast in their belief that he possesses the requisite skills to reach the pinnacle of the sport.<\/p>\n Lauding Mainoo, plus teammate Alejandro Garnacho back in January<\/a>, United boss Ruben Amorim said: “Yes, my players are always my favourites. So I really love my players, I want to keep my players, especially the talented ones.<\/p>\n “It’s a special moment in this club, it’s a hard moment, I am really happy with Kobbie, he is improving and also with Garna (Garnacho).<\/p>\n “The first thing I think I don’t remember to say clearly that I want new players. What I said is sometimes the profile for this system is different and the players came here with a different idea how to play.”<\/p>\n Amorim also took that particular opportunity to highlight the importance of United’s academy and developing players through the system. He added: “Our idea is always to keep the best players and the players that we build for this club but we know the position the club is in at the moment. We will see.<\/p>\n “But I’m very happy.
