Leeds United could be eyeing a raid of Sheffield United this summer, with Gustavo Hamer a long-term target for the Whites.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gus Hamer<\/a> has been on Leeds United\u2019s<\/a> radar for a long while now, having been keen to sign the versatile midfielder last summer and during his spell at Coventry City as well.<\/p>\n

Leeds could now revive a move after Sheffield United\u2019s failure to gain promotion via the play-offs but Everton have also added Hamer to their shortlist<\/a> among other Premier League sides.<\/p>\n

Chris Wilder has provided an update on Hamer<\/a> but his contract situation and PSR pressure could make a sale inevitable, but other departures can\u2019t be ruled out.<\/p>\n

Leeds fans are buzzing with the Hamer links<\/a> and it\u2019s fair to say Sheffield United chiefs are concerned about losing Hamer<\/a>, but it may all come down to the cost.<\/p>\n

If Leeds can agree a price with the Blades, he could be playing Premier League football once again. That\u2019s despite coming so close during Saturday\u2019s play-off final against Sunderland.<\/p>\n

However, Blades fans do not want to lose him for cheap. They have named their price. One Sheffield United fan said: \u201c30 million and they can have him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Including the above, some were perhaps a little more realistic about what to expect in the summer with less power in negotiations after failing to go up. Gus Hamer\u2019s career stats<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old would upgrade a crucial area of Leeds\u2019 team under Daniel Farke<\/a>. However, the price has to be right. He turns 28 this month and is entering the final two years of his deal.<\/p>\n

Therefore, Leeds should be able to secure his services for much cheaper than the prices being bandied around by Blades fans. <\/p>\n

He cost \u00a315 million two years ago and is older now, meaning the amount needed to make a PSR profit on Hamer is not significant and perhaps opens up an opportunity for a reasonable deal to be struck.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
