{"id":140010,"date":"2025-05-29T00:07:09","date_gmt":"2025-05-29T00:07:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/140010\/"},"modified":"2025-05-29T00:07:09","modified_gmt":"2025-05-29T00:07:09","slug":"marco-rubio-says-us-will-begin-revoking-visas-of-chinese-students-donald-trump-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/140010\/","title":{"rendered":"Marco Rubio says US will begin revoking visas of Chinese students | Donald Trump News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"post-label__text\">BREAKING<\/strong>BREAKING, <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__subhead\">The US will also \u2018enhance scrutiny of all future visa applications\u2019 from China and Hong Kong, the State Department said.<\/p>\n<p>The United States will \u201caggressively revoke\u201d the visas of Chinese students studying in the US, Secretary of State Marco Rubio has announced, as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/5\/27\/us-pauses-student-visa-processing-amid-plans-to-up-social-media-vetting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump administration continues its crackdown<\/a> on foreign students enrolled at higher education institutions in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Rubio announced the shock move in a statement published late on Wednesday titled \u201cNew Visa Policies Put America First, Not China\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnder President Trump\u2019s leadership, the US State Department will work with the Department of Homeland Security to aggressively revoke visas for Chinese students, including those with connections to the Chinese Communist Party or studying in critical fields,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will also revise visa criteria to enhance scrutiny of all future visa applications from the People\u2019s Republic of China and Hong Kong,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, the Trump administration also temporarily suspended the processing of visas for foreign students, ordering embassies and consulates not to allow any additional student or exchange visas \u201cuntil further guidance is issued\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The State Department also plans to \u201cissue guidance on expanded social media vetting for all such applications\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>This is a breaking news story.
