Antony has been reborn while on loan at Real Betis and his Manchester United future remains up in the air.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The winger’s temporary switch to Spain has been an incredible move for him, and he could claim a European trophy tonight.<\/p>\n

Real Betis<\/a> take on Chelsea<\/a> in the Conference League final this evening, live on talkSPORT<\/a>, and Antony<\/a> is a key man.<\/p>\n

He has nine goals and five assists for the LaLiga side in all competitions and has looked like the player Man United<\/a> thought they’d signed from Ajax for \u00a382million in the summer of 2022.<\/p>\n

But despite playing so well with Betis, his future is up in the air.<\/p>\n

Is Antony returning to Manchester United?<\/p>\n

Well, once Antony’s loan expires, he will be a full United player again.<\/p>\n

The temporary switch to Betis doesn’t include an option or obligation to buy.<\/p>\n

Of course, if he is actually ever going to return to Manchester is another question entirely.<\/p>\n

This is because Antony has been called up by Carlo Ancelotti<\/a> for his first Brazil squad.<\/p>\n

Once the international break is over, the winger will no doubt head on holiday, and in that time, a transfer could be arranged.<\/p>\n

United have to sell players this summer to generate funds for a summer rebuild.<\/p>\n

Matheus Cunha<\/a> is set to join from Wolves<\/a> and ambitious moves for Bryan Mbeumo and Liam Delap are also being targeted.<\/p>\n

But if those transfers are to happen, players need to leave, and Antony would be one they’ll no doubt look to shift.<\/p>\n

The player himself has also been talking recently about how hard life in Manchester was.<\/p>\n

Speaking to TNT Sports Brazil, he said: “I always say that I had good moments but I had very difficult moments too. Not only on the field but off it.<\/p>\n

“I went through some very difficult times there that ended up affecting me a lot. But I am very grateful even for these difficult moments that I went through. Today, I feel much more mature, much more prepared, I feel much better.<\/p>\n

“It was a moment when I thought about stopping playing. I no longer felt that desire to play football because of everything I was going through, because of all the accusations and because I had remained silent for so long.<\/p>\n

“[My career] has changed a lot [at Betis]. It changed a lot because I needed to find myself, for everything I went through there in my personal life. I wanted to do things, but it seemed like it wasn’t happening because I wasn’t happy, I wasn’t feeling that desire to play football anymore, and I needed to find myself.<\/p>\n

“Playing football was always something that I loved and I went through difficult times when I didn’t feel that pleasure anymore.<\/p>\n

“I would always talk to my brother, I used to say, ‘I can’t do it anymore, I can’t do it anymore’. He said: ‘Hold on a little longer and things will change’.<\/p>\n

“I even get emotional because it was very difficult for me. Only I know what it was like inside the house, not even having the strength to even play with my son, having days without eating, staying in my room.<\/p>\n

“It was very complicated but with the help of my family with the help of God, I managed to turn things around. I’m already very happy here.”<\/p>\n

That doesn’t sound like a player who is that keen on heading back to Man United.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils will be trying to recoup as much of the \u00a382m they spent on the 25-year-old, but it’s unlikely Betis could come anywhere close to that.<\/p>\n

As a result, we might see him head somewhere else in Europe.<\/p>\n
