Thirty people who have made extraordinary contributions to their communities were presented with King Charles Coronation Medals at a ceremony held at the Kelowna Springs Gold Course on May 28.<\/p>\n
The Coronation Medal was created to mark the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, which took place on May 6, 2023.<\/p>\n
During the second anniversary year,\u00a030,000 medals\u00a0will be awarded to deserving Canadians, 1,300 of which will\u00a0recognize members of the RCMP, and 5,000 will honour members of the Armed Forces.\u00a0<\/p>\n
At the Kelowna\u00a0RCMP celebration, Mounties\u00a0clad in their\u00a0red serge uniforms from across the Interior B.C. were honoured alongside civilian members of the police force’s\u00a0Southeast District RCMP\u00a0E-Division.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Several ceremonies will be held across the province to honour citizens, members of the RCMP, members of the Canadian Armed Forces\u00a0who have made a\u00a0significant contribution to Canada or community.<\/p>\n
The Government of B.C.\u00a0has presented a total of\u00a0551 medals to the province’s outstanding citizens.\u00a0<\/p>\n
